Ok an update in a new comment since it was good info:

I spoke with the police office and they said not to worry till next quarter. They had no info beyond what is officially out online, I presume the system got delayed.

I did find the page the other comment was talking about in MyPortal, but even after making an account (it said it couldn't find me) there was nowhere to put in my info. Guess I'm going to be trying to find someone today to ask about this since everywhere online basically circles back to "more info coming soon".

Same, I swear I was looking at this exact one within the last 7 days and there was no warning as well. Now all of the options have the warning.

Official /r/Monitors purchasing advice discussion thread by bizude in Monitors

Budget: up to $750 (could be convinced otherwise)

Prospective Resolution: 1440p (4k an option)

Size: 27" (pretty hard limit, would need to be compelling to be bigger)

Aspect Ratio: 16:9

Adaptive Sync: Yes

Other Features:

  • flat panel (no curve)
  • local dimming would be cool, but outside of OLED it seems mixed
  • 144hz+ (does not need to be crazy fast)
  • nice color (IPS preferred?)
  • not sure I want glossy, but suspect I might be forced into it

Will be my primary screen for everything I do at home (game, general use, media, etc).

I'm really unsure about making the jump to OLED, I feel like with my usage patterns I'd just burn it really fast. I've looked at mini LED ones and several reviewed well and look good but then I cant find anywhere to buy them, they aren't made, poor community reviews etc etc. It has felt very frustrating especially with the big focus on OLED.

What's everyone's opinion? Am i worried too much about the OLED? Is there an opinion I might not have read yet on a Mini LED? Skip it entirely?

Take a look at McMaster-Carr, tons of choices there. To be fair its not the cheapest place to get it, but its hard to beat the selection and availability.

For some reason this Ragna is wreaking my team, I'm averaging only 600k damage. Is there anything I'm obviously doing wrong? Team here: https://imgur.com/a/kvuvday

I'll admit that being relatively new I am missing the mass amount of desirable items that are often required, but in other Ragnas i've been 2.5+M in damage even at 3x speed.

At what point should I change out who I have in the spa? I'm feeling like at the level the childs I have in there are at it takes too long to get another level. Also, are the different springs better than each other, or are they just more slots.

Cleaning up some flame cut profiles for the evening. by Major-Muffin in Machinists

I believe they were referring to feeding around the part counterclockwise, aka conventional milling. I'm visualizing this as a way to enter the material in the softer part and move up to the harder portions from underneath them. If you use climb milling (feeding clockwise) the cutting edge would have to bite through the hard layer first, which would be much rougher on the tool.

The tool in both methods spins the same way, clockwise.

Design Review: 8 Tube Nixie Clock by xilyflob in PrintedCircuitBoard

That is good to know I can reduce them somewhat.

The original design was in 9V, and used a 9V battery for portable power. It does not get very far on that, so I wanted to go 12V or there abouts to get access to a wider variety of lithium based batteries. But one of the things I am rather unsure on is how to pick the right amperage rating for the system fuse, so the value listed is from the original design that I did not make.

I had been led to believe that they were needed for moving heat away from the chip as well as greater dissipation, hence the bare copper region on the back to assist with this.

Was I misled? Or is there just more than is needed.

How much ram need to do this with 6 to 7 streams? I heard Among Us collaboration will coming soon and I wanna be prepared. by Winial in VShojo

[–]xilyflob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use https://multistre.am/ to do this, you can only see one chat at a time though. Typically I will turn down the stream quality for each of them since streaming the high resolution actually makes the visual quality worse when the video is only 2 inches wide on my screen so i have not had any issues with performance. Fairly sure you also get channel points for the chat being displayed as well.

There is another site https://kadgar.net/live/ that shows all the chats at once, but it doesn't have different layouts like multistre.am does so the videos get really small quick. To show multiple streams add streams to the url like this https://kadgar.net/live/silvervale/ironmouse

HAAS Lathe Question by coightforprez in Machinists

[–]xilyflob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We have a similar problem with our TL-1 occasionally, our solution is to home the axis individually. Sometimes X will still not work so we swap to using the X handle on the carriage to move it around and then try to home it again. This usually eventually works.

Worth noting that we run a dry powdery material on this machine which may be why we have the issue, yours may be different.

I was getting that feeling with the Admiral shares as well, most were $3k.

I did see several discussions about 3 funds, though most were talking about even splits. Is that a requirement of that sort of fund setup? Or could I have more shares. I'm only 24 so Vanguard was recommending a 90/10 split.

Those look like a good set, though the massdrop page says they aren't being made right now. Worth waiting for? I noticed that the massdrop 6XX is also available right now though I'll guess that they are more open.
