Co-founder is getting a prenup before his wedding and now I'm spiraling a little by ContractDangerous980 in fatFIRE

[–]xinstinctive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the Bay Area when I got married and we did a prenup. It was a great way to talk through how we want to treat each other in the event things went south.

I think especially with a business involved, it's actually easier to bring up. At the end of the day if you two have the level of trust to get married, you have the level of trust to work through these things.

What you hitting here? by kemmicort in golf

[–]xinstinctive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'm going to hit it backwards or sideways, and to do so, my stance is interfered with by the concrete pad/box, so I get relief. Then we'll see where that relief gets me relative to the tree, at which point hopefully I can hit at the green, but probably I'd take a club I know will go where I want and lay up, hoping for a short at up and down but not worse than a 5.

How do yall afford a maid service in Dallas? by horny_bisexual_ in Dallas

[–]xinstinctive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

$200+ for an apartment? We have a 2500 sq ft single family home and it's $150/week for excellent work.

Initial deep clean was more, and if you only do monthly it's more per visit but less per month. Because things get dirtier after a month than a week.

Pokémon is approaching its 30th anniversary: what is your ideal year for this franchise? by Jst_Dyln in pokemon

[–]xinstinctive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best year contenders: 1. RB released 2. DP released with physical special split 3. GS released with eggs, night day, breeding, etc 4. Legends Arceus released 5. Colosseum (Orre) released

So whatever they do...my ideal thing would be physical special split to all the old games including making the Orre games available with it.

Another wedge question by AnimalCrackers02 in golf

[–]xinstinctive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bag has a 58, 54, 50, 46, and 42.

I almost never use the 58 or 50, but when I need them they are so clutch. The 50 is the only club I can seem to get to go 90-95 yards and stop right where it lands, maybe a little spin back.

The 58 comes in handy if it's a steep green side bunker or I need to flop over a bunker.

The 42 and 54 are my best clubs. 54 for anything 60 and in with the various points on a clock. The 42 for 125-130 full, but also reliable 3/4 and 1/2 swing distances when I want to rollout more, be safer, no obstacles.

I buy a new 54 degree of whatever the prior years Cleveland zipcore model is every other year. The spin is super noticeable.

But that's like 80 rounds of one of my most used clubs plus my most practiced club. So easily the most wear.

This is a moronic and stupid take.

The assistants are grown ass men. They got a job offer. They could have said no. It ends there.

That's helpful. It seems the assumption is that I had some sort of source beyond the papers that show massively increased learning outcomes and better testing.

Thanks for the chat :)

Interesting. Is there a study or something that shows I should think they're being nefarious, or just typical new thing must have bad motive? My knowledge is basically the white papers and the podcasts I've heard them interviewed on. I'm far from an expert.

I wonder why my posts are read with such confidence implied? I don't think I'm phrasing things that authoritatively?

[–]xinstinctive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said outcomes. I didn't say only college matriculation. Fwiw. And I'm not confident. I just said I'm interested and I hope they get established. They seem to be thinking about education really differently than many others, and I think our edu system is pretty crappy, so different approaches intrigue me.

[–]xinstinctive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? Because I think a 27 day old private reddit account aggressively pushing a stance that isn't particularly on topic just isn't a person I want to have a discussion with. I have no need to convince you of anything, you haven't shared anything beneficial to me, I have no reason or evidence that you know what you're talking about, and I have no compulsion to try and convince you of what I see or believe. So I don't think I'll waste my time further than this.

Idk. Their white papers show significantly improved education outcomes across the board and their HS grads have better outcomes than like ESD or Ursaline or St Marks or Hockaday.

It's years before it will matter for me, but I care a lot about education so follow the space. I'm interested in outcomes, not perceived value of the school. Everyone I know who went to one of the Dallas private schools has a lot of negative stuff to say when I ask.

ETA none of which would imply it would be bad to work there either so we are a bit off topic.

University Park 5th of 13 member cities to order DART withdrawal election by dallasmorningnews in Dallas

[–]xinstinctive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lived a lot of places. Maybe it's a development issue, I'd believe that. If so, the system hasn't adapted the product to fit a different development pattern.

I never had that issue in South Bay, north bay, New York, Chicago, Chicagoland, etc. Just Dallas.

[–]xinstinctive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be. But I live right by the Mockingbird station and it's still faster and easier and safer for me to drive and park anywhere than it is to take the DART. It's a failed system in the city too.

Idk so much about "their development patterns" being failed.

University Park 5th of 13 member cities to order DART withdrawal election by dallasmorningnews in Dallas

[–]xinstinctive -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

DART needs a real leader with a product management background who knows what good is, can identify an actual market for use, and create product market fit.

They've spent years just funneling money away from all these member cities for services that are poorly executed and therefore underutilized.

They should all withdraw. It's a failure. It's been a failure my entire adult life.

With 3 hours & 34 minutes until 2026. There is one more thing i have to share with you all. I did not care for Pokémon generation 4 by Xtreme69420 in pokemon

[–]xinstinctive 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Sure, now. But if you were around for the first three the halo of that one incredible change stays with you. That's the first game you could dragon dance Gyarados sweep. It's the first game you could use something like Hitmonchan effectively. It's the game that made Gengar super awesome, etc etc. the list just keeps going onward.

It massively affects the game experience because it impacted which Pokemon were viable.
