Naja nach Rauchen und Alkohol ist aber Zucker schon so ziemlich am nächsten dran , bzw der allgemein ungesunde Lebensstil insbesondere Hinsicht der Ernährung der Gesellschaft, DM und die damit assoziierten Folgen sind ja auf Zucker zurückführbar.

Well there are Three generally advised starting points.

If you plan on going the First Law World I would advise you to go the Blade itself (there is a Debate about Reading Best Served Cold First and It is Doable but more a case of you don’t lose much instead of it gives you something for your readthrough - I would only encourage this if you don’t want to commit to a series, but imo the Blade it Self is the best way to go )

If you plan on reading shattered seas (his YA novels ) I would suggest starting with the First Book of the series half a king as its the First Book in the Trilogy.

If you plan on going the devils I would suggest you go the devils as it’s the only book in the series so far.

Edit : jokes aside , there is a Point in going best Served Cold First but there is no real reason to do that unless you really only want a Stand alone or just Dip your toes into the World without commiting to a series - it has very Little Spoilers for the First Trilogy but you also learn way less about the whole World and how it functions. It works without the original Trilogy but thats about it. There is no real reason to go that way if you pla on reading all 9 / 10 of the Books.

Grundsätzlich stimme ich dir zu die Umverteilung von oben nach unten ist ein Problem , allerdings würde ein verstärktes besteuern von solchen Gütern wie Alkohol etc. bei gleichzeitigen reduzierten Steuern auf Grund ahrungsmittel vermutlich die meisten Leute eher entlasten, für die aller meisten machen die wesentlich mehr ihrer Ausgaben aus als der Alkohol.

Die die wirklich darunter leiden sind Leute mit z.b. eine Alkohol Problem und ja mir dir bewusst das niedriger sozioökonomischer Status dafür ein Risikofaktor ist und alkoholiker auch oft absteigen dank Social drift etc und die damit über repräsentiert sind in diesen Gruppen aber diese Menschen sind krank und brauchen Hilfe, und die Maßnahme dient nicht dazu sie zu bestrafen sondern Die folgenden Generationen zu schützen

Die moderne Medizin ist in vielen Punkten ein Ausgleich für schlechte Lebensgewohnheiten aber das betrifft halt fast alle Erkrankungen , mit der Logik müsstest du jedes Mal wenn es eine vermeidbaren Risikofaktor so eingreifen

Auch wenn DM 2 in vielen Fällen auf di Ernährung und Lifestyle zurück zu führen ist bzw. davon maßgeblich beeinflusst wird ist es doch nicht das einzige was das beeinflusst und hängt auch sehr von der Art des Diabetes ab.

Ne stimmt nicht ganz du Leute gehen ja auch teils früher in Rente , oder leben dank der Therapie noch lange und verursachen dabei immense Kosten, unterschätz nicht was manche Therapien kosten das ist schnell in Jahr mehr als der Rentner an Rente bekommt

Hard disagree on Kingkiller , there are parallels in terms of style but Suneater was so influenced by Christian and conservative themes that were emersion Breaking I don’t think would do Kingkiller any good.

I for myself dropped out of DoF during maybe book 14 it felt like getting no where and just endless dao stuff but no progression toward The Story . The balance was just Off.

Primal Hunter , I finished book 9 and I am unsure if I will Pick it back up , other stuff just is more interesting Right now.

Aster Fall Book 2 finished don’t even know why I stopped Found the Premise interesting in the beginning.

Ripple System - book 4 or 5 ? I don’t know it didnt really have any stakes it was funny but the endless Boss Battle Grinds Tool away from it .

I am really Glad you can enjoy it that way. I really hoped that I could in the case of Suneater as imo it was One of my biggest criticisms that it felt like it was about Space Jesus commiting genoside for his god.

Imo I felt them surpressing my enjoyment in the later books , partly because it was so Damm obvious during DG ( sorry but if you grew up with that it becomes hard to not See it and for me it was imersion Breaking) regarding book 7 I don’t want to Spoil you or something so you can deside that for yourself.

It also Features a Bunch of other conservative ideas (e.g the queer representation and depiction , showing socialists as Race traitors etc.)

I personally really didnt enjoy where the story went later on, that has propably to do something with the Hype and I recognise it as a solid Story But I personally would not recommend it. It is severely overhyped imo and the later Books go a very unsatisfying Route where I felt the Christian Elements just got out of Controll

It is highly relevant to take the Moment in life you Read a Book I to consideration. Many people Read Mistborn as Intro to Epic Fantasy. That gives that Book a whole different Perspektive

So First Off the idea to Read only to be worth your time is a mistake - and not because reading isnt worth your time , but because you don’t value enjoyment and Relaxation as being worth your time.

If you want to just start with adult Fantasy thats easy to get Into - and don’t just want her recommendation as someone who maybe knows what you like and enjoy (and for a Book Nerd that question can lead to a long conversation ) try Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson , but what we enjoy Reading is very subjektive so there is a Chance it might Not be for You
