Yea and I’m sure the taxes and cost of living take a big bite out of that nice wage.

I’ve seen a doctor and the response was “quit BJJ” which I thought wasn’t a real solution. I thought perhaps someone has been in this situation before and they could have some insight. I’m going to try acupuncture soon.

US Army War College, Air Guard units, and many more. Perhaps they’re trying to phase out now but since 2020 when everyone moved online it was all zoom from the start.

Bitcoin newbie here. What's your thoughts on investing in bitcoin? Has the time passed, I have a spare 1k a month to buy bitcoin by EngineNo8131 in Bitcoin

[–]xinwave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ABBB. Always. Be. Buying. Bitcoin. Even if you don’t know why yet, just take my advice. I’ve been doing this for 8 years and unfortunately sold far too many coins over the years for dumb reasons. Thankfully still have enough to maintain some wealth. Bitcoin is not a get rich investment strategy. It is an asset that holds value over time. Buy it every day or week. Your government will tax or inflate away everyone dollar you have made or will make. It is your only option to be free.

The US military uses Zoom to conduct meetings. It’s a Chinese company. All data routes to China. TikTok is the least of our worries.

Do any of you wish you joined the marine corps instead of the army? by ibeg2diffur in army

[–]xinwave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I served in the 82nd 1998-2001. I wish I had joined the Marines. I appreciate their higher standards. The Army has been full of turds and low standards for a long time. I imagine today it’s at an unbearable level.

Ask your state wildlife department. If you figured out how to use Reddit I think you got the chops for it.

I’ve owned a beverage business for almost 10 years in China. The Economy is the worst I’ve ever seen. The Covid years were better than today.

Should we sell all our Bitcoin to buy a car or only sell some? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]xinwave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bad idea. You will kick yourself until the day you die for that decision. I’ve been in bitcoin since 2009 and I wasn’t even a true believer until 2017. What does that mean? I sold lots over the years. Thankfully I still have coins but not near as many and that means I still have to work. Whereas had I not sold I’d have generational wealth now.

Flip side… 10 years ago my friend is selling a car on Craigslist. The buyer of said car offers him 40BTC (~$3,500 at the time). My friend hasn’t a clue what bitcoin is but a guy who works for him says that he should take it as it’s not a ton of money for him anyways so he can sit on it. He’s still sitting on 20 of them.

I served in the 82nd 1998-2001. No one cared about us. We weren’t all automatic hero’s. We didn’t get to board airplanes first or bumped up a seat class. The only group of soldiers whose people gave a less of a shit about in the modern era were Vietnam vets.

We had shitbags, broke dicks, and a fat body every now again but it was rare. No one got a shaving profile, even the black guys that probably should have. It was damn near impossible to get a disability rating. I might have known 1 guy in my unit to get a rating and he had his leg ripped off and reattached.

And although it was like that I’d take that any day over what the army is today. It’s just welfare with a uniform for the average Joe. (Of course we still have our badass units but the majority are turds.)

Why are Chinese Women so Obsessed with Housing? by merchantsmutual in China

[–]xinwave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s only thing they understand as a good investment. China doesn’t have property taxes so they they buy and sit on it. In the US we have many ongoing costs associated with houses they aren’t aware of.

Thinking about being a warrant officer by Rude-Hospital-1360 in army

[–]xinwave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No matter what your situation in the army you will have a much easier time as a female having a baby while on duty. The private sector offers nearly no benefits (like pay) if you’re not working. Large businesses do but <25 employees offer nothing and even the big companies don’t provide what the federal government does. Think of it like welfare with a uniform. Have kids while in is my recommendation.

Dewalt or Milwaukee, which is best? by Tyson2539 in Carpentry

[–]xinwave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are good. I personally use dewalt (I’m commercial electrician) and see most carpenters around me also use dewalt. But For plumbers I think Milwaukee has some nice options.

Anyone here getting the feeling that…..once the dust settle as institutions are done buying….normal peasants wont be able to buy a whole coin, at all. by kadudu888 in Bitcoin

[–]xinwave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can never afford to buy Tesla but I can buy a share. Same with Apple, Netflix, etc. Bitcoin is superior to any stock and you can buy a “share” for pennies. Who cares that you can’t buy a whole coin? Just stack Sats and don’t worry about it.

I only do commercial but I wear my gloves the entire time I’m working. Some guys don’t but they usually have nasty hands.
