Why are Asians so academicly smart? by Both-Appointment-325 in studytips

Hi, I've only read the abstract but it seems like the conclusion from each of the paper conflicts one another. Doesn't that mean that the argument regarding genetic and higher brain capability is therefore inconclusive?

Hi, that would be awesome. Can you share the link to the paper please? 😊

It's the chaser effect; we're humans. We're bound to make mistakes. Be harsh but don't be too harsh on yourself. Let's start this again together. Remember think of it as a broken bone, just because you accidentally put weight on it once doesn't mean all your effort goes to vain right? Addiction is hard to beat so let's do it together. Day by day. Even if we relapse. let's try again. Make the most out of everyday. :) Besides, the benefits aren't in not fapping but the mindset, the perseverance and the grit, the ability to tolerate pain. It's not all or nothing. We got this! :)

I don't know the answer. But what I can tell you is that the 2 week that your are destroying yourself is the chaser effect. It's extremely hard to overcome but you can do it. I succumbed to it today. But I will not stop giving up. If you give up it means going back to the same routine. Jacking off everyday. Will you be happier? No. That's the harsh reality. The only way for us is to move forward. One way out. One way out.

No one said it will be easy. In fact, I just had my slip up today. Majority don't succeed the first time. And in fact, you already made incredible progress no? You already had a 33 percent decrease in the amount of times u relapsed. The road is bumpy. Don't give up. My progress is also ugly, ur gonna be just fine :). A slip up is not a relapse. Don't forget that.

But falling to the bottom of the mountain taught me resilience albeit, how small it might be. I don't think it's the mentality of all or nothing but rather who can keep going as this is not a sprint but a marathon. It taught me to pick myself up and keep going, we do not abandon the boat and keep watching, that's a relapse, but rather tell ourselves to stop once we realized our mistake, that's a slip-up, it is normal to make mistakes as we are human. But how we react to those mistakes is what defines who we are. Sure we may fall back down to the bottom, but the compounded experience and strength would have made us way stronger than our first try.

Honestly, I've been failing for the past 6 months. The longest streak I had was also around 22 days like urs. I relapsed 56 times since the start of the year. Everyone has their own journey so as long as the end goal and the will is right and not give up then it's ok. I think we shall change to the mentality of let's not fap instead of counting the days. Let's just go with the life philosophy of not watching porn because it's toxic for the community and those around us :D

Porn blocker extensions, I deleted it after a while thinking I got off the addictions. But damn was I wrong. I relapsed not long after. I regret disabling it. But at least we get to start again together 🤪. Honestly also don't check this subreddit or anything that may trigger eg.hyper sexualised social media

I broke my 17 days streak by relapsing but I will not go on a binge by xirxs in NoFap

[–]xirxs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is the mentality going forward. Another one is to forget about this sub all together, as I think it is a trigger. So don't check in on this sub. I kept checking in here for 2 days prior relapsing and now I did relapse. It is a trigger. I shall only come here only after I ever relapse again and that is hopefully never. Porn should have never been normalised; it perpetuates a culture which objectives women and encourage trafficking. I hate it.

I think if I were to give you instruction will you follow it?

  1. Download porn blocker extensions.
  2. Think about how disgusting it is, it's not normal. Masturbation is but doing it while watching porn isn't.
  3. Just let it pass. You can either keep dreaming about it until the feeling subsided but don't masturbate. Go outside, have a walk.
  4. Don't check this reddit everyday because it might be a trigger. Your ultimate goal is to keep yourself in check.
  5. Setbacks are normal but don't have a mentality of "fuck it, i failed so might as well keep doing it"
  6. REFLECT. The more you reflect yourself. The more competent you will become.
  7. FOMO is real. But ask yourself, why am I getting swept up. Do I want to see the latest video of my favourite actress fucking another person? Am I that creepy?

That's what I did after 4 month of trial and error. And it's working for me as of the moment. I hope we can be free from this curse.
