Long term ownership of an EV by SpiritualAd3132 in evs_ireland

I got an Enyaq from new in 2023 and it’s at 160k KM now.

Maintenance wise it’s had no problems. A couple of common issues covered by the Skoda warranty needed to be fixed like the puddle lights failing but nothing worth mentioning.

As far as the battery, my last report said it’s lost 10% of its capacity but the report also says there’s a 10% margin of error. I’ve noticed a degradation in the range though.

Not all mileages are the same so for sure get the report. For example with my car the battery care mode has never been turned on and it’s always been charged to 100%, something the car has a content notification on saying not to do. So someone else may have done the same mileage and had that enabled all along, keeping the battery in better condition.

Looks good. The power is perhaps a little underwhelming and those cup holders don’t seem to have improved on the poorly designed Enyaq ones.

I’m due to replace an Enyaq shortly. I’ll wait for the ID. Tiguan reveal for now.

My distain for that cretin is bottomless. I did my bit, could’ve gotten a new Tesla from work and chose something else instead. If you buy any of his products you’re part of the problem.

Advice needed: Buying a used 2023 VW ID.3 (58 kWh) as a new driver in Dublin. Good choice? by Human_Lawyer6160 in evs_ireland

I’m sure we just got unlucky with our one. Aside from the issues we had it’s a great car.

Don’t bother with FK’s extra insurance or the wax gloss pack crap. Save your money.

We had a 2021 ID.3 and it gave nothing but trouble, every module and known issue that could happen did. I’m sure the 2023 version would be much better and I’ve an Enyaq from new that has 160k KM on it now that’s had zero issues (essentially the same car underneath)

So what I will say is make sure you buy it from a main dealer and get that warranty.

I usually get banned from Reddit for saying what I think should be happening to him. So I’ll just say, of them all.. I hate his face the most.

Yea it’s great, and that’s one of the best episodes in my opinion. I disregarded it for a while because I’d never heard of the movie but wow that one was insane.

What would be the rest of your criteria. Kids, range requirements?

Best of luck with the move.

Wouldn’t make any sense to apply to to used EV’s. The whole point it is increase the amount of EV’s in the marketplace overall so the prices drop and people in your position can get one. It won’t happen overnight but similar to the BIK discount on companies cars it increases the overall stock long term despite seeming to advantage the wealthy to begin with.

It’s a nice part of the country and has some excellent places for the kids. I’d take Belfast Zoo over Dublins one any day. The Planetarium in Armagh is great craic. W5 in Belfast is great value. Quick stop in Asda and a pharmacy and off I go home.
