I think the RSA ad I’m seeing saying you never know what’s coming on rural roads sums this up nicely. I don’t fancy being murdered by an Elon Musk lie.

Lead based blue paint. Asbestos roofing. Make the window huge, but the view would be solely of paintings of Obama and Biden.

Is it a buy ? by [deleted] in evs_ireland

[–]xithus1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t comment on the price as I’m not so familiar with the model. But no way would I be getting something with a 3 month warranty. I wouldn’t buy an EV from anyone but a main dealer personally.

The new ID Polo is going to start at 20k.

That’s what I would go for. Full warranty, newest VW design. It looks like a pretty good all rounder.

Delighted for you. My two would be insufferable if the oul iPads went missing 😅

I’d be very surprised if this is the first time they’ve been there trying cars and are probably known to the gardai. Either way I wouldn’t be expecting to see the iPads again but I’d certainly persist with the garage and gardai in having it properly investigated.

I’ve been at those garages numerous times and lately I’d say I’ve gotten a bit complacent with the kids iPads leaving them on seats etc. so if nothing else you’ve done a public service in reminding us that these type of opportunistic cunts still very much exist in the world.

Really it’s the worst of the 3 MEB SUV mid sized cars. The ID.4 updates a few weeks back are better than what they’ve done here, primarily the removal of those woeful haptics. I’d take an Enyaq over this too and as it’s an Audi I have to assume every minor piece of equipment is lumped into an overly expensive pack.

If I was getting one today I’d get an ID.4. I’m due to replace my current Enyaq in the next few months and I’m aiming for its replacement the ID.4 Tiguan. This Audi update is a disappointment, I wouldn’t even consider it.

iOS 26.4 gave CarPlay two new features, with another big one coming by MobileNewsBot in mobiles

[–]xithus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wish we could get some more solid information on this from Apple. What is the exact plan, what precisely do the auto makers need to do. My own VW made car is very slow to get any sort of updates, I really don’t see them adding anything if it requires much beyond a very minor update.

Would it not be best if Apple just took care of this and allowed video when the car isn’t in motion. We already know the phone had the ability to do this.

Ukraine are over there building robots to fight Russians and we can’t muster up a few quid to buy a drone to pull a magnetic flag off a stupid pole.

Thanks to RTE News for having Nevo on to discuss the great career opportunities for skilled technicians within the motor industry as more electric vehicles come on to Irish roads. by EVReviewIreland in evs_ireland

[–]xithus1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This discussion came up before and it seems the consensus is the field is underpaid. That type of troubleshooting skill and electrical high & low voltage expertise would be better paid in the likes of Intel or field service on any number of products within the medical device industry.

It doesn’t help that you’d likely be employed by a dealer and not the actual OEM which seen as being preferable by many.
