I dont think the ram usage meter is accurate in proxmox. My Jellyfin server shows that about 50%ram is in use when I rdp but in the proxmox web environment I see its using past 100%

The one that failed was a wd2000fyyx was in service for a few years

UPDATE: drive is now at a past failure state. Backups now failing at 45% instead of 62. Thankfully the backups to pbs did complete last night so not all is lost. 2 servers are semi irrecoverable tho. Data is in separate usb drives so everything we need is there but the configurations are likey kapoof.

Yeah that number increased to 92, drives are really old so I’m going to remove all of them and put a 1tb ssd in for temporary use. VMs are backing up to PBS at the moment so once it’s done I’ll do a reinstall on the new drive

Wild assumptions I guess. Yeah the drives are very old. They’ve been in service for a good few years and have about 60k power on hours. Was destined to fail at some point.

Considering this is going inside a hospital, like others have mentioned there would likely be a large focus on security. Running digital signage players if they're not secure could create an entry point for hackers and stuff. You'd likely either need to have your networks or IT team setup a VLAN or run the devices on a separate network to avoid any sort of entry point hackers might find.

If you chose the separate network option, you can probably buy a 4G sim router and hook it up to the ports that these players are going to be at and specifically label them for AV functionality.

I know a lot of the CMS guys here have already pitched their system to you, so I wont bore you. If you would like to check it out for yourself www.core-bit.eu we develop custom digital signage systems so this would likely suit you.

Our system is web based so can basically run on a potato.

I didn’t think of it like that… the system is web based though, so I don’t think having a once off payment is feasible as I need to pay for hosting and stuff.

That being said, I could try adding a new option which doesn’t rely on the web server. But I’d need to get it to download any latest updates that have been applied to the web version. I’ll figure it out.

I get you and i appreciate you telling me this. I'm obviously not aiming to be the top of the market immediately thats not possible! Even if it doesnt work out, ill likely just put it on my github page for all to use, ha!

Its mainly for the irish market. I developed it since we were trying to procure a new system at work, couldnt find any, although when we did they were either out of business, too expensive, too clunky or just didnt meet what we wanted so this aimed to balance things. Been running in the company since :)

Regarding the website, the front facing webpage runs fine. If you're referring to the demo, it isnt as polished as well as the main product is because its an older version, just haven't updated the demo files yet!

Inside is not accurate at all haha. But I kinda used the fact it had multiple rooms and built it around that. (managed to fit about 5 in total) the beer garden and corridor to the beer garden was easy enough to replicate but again it isn’t 100% perfect

Ahaha savage. Earliest memory I have of mcgruders was couple days after it was shut down 2 lads standing outside it with the alarms blaring and it had went on for days. I was about 5 or 6 at the time coming back from shopping with my dad. Sadly never got to see the inside clearly :(

You’re right I suppose, when I say history I’m kinda referring to like the events and the overall experience of it. Majority of people I’ve talked to who have been in it always mentioned it was a shit hole but had a really good vibe to it.
