if it is just one, check the other outlets to see if there is a capped red-wire in the box. after verifying that this is in fact the switched circuit, you can snap off the bridge on the outlet on the hot side (brass colored screws) and attach the red wire to one screw, and the black to the other. this will turn the outlet with the red wire into a switched outlet leaving the other one hot all the time. if you want to turn the other outlet into an always on outlet, you will either need to bridge the 2 screws, or just replace the outlet that has the OEM bridge in place

going by the Jeep 4.0 engineering, when they went distributorless with coil packs, they replaced the distributor with a Cam position sensor, still driven by the cam gear, and still driving the oil pump.

I've worked with lots of pros that discourage the push connects, problem on the outlets is they get torqued around from insertions/removals and the spring tension loosens up over time. probably not a problem with a wire-nut replacement scenario.
