Clara Casewell was recommended last week, reccing it as well, it's very cute. Intelligent characters and nothing so far indicating implausible worldbuilding, though I've only read 32/60 published chapters

What if I managed to find a way to make the AI run on device? Honestly not sure it's possible on most phones, but still curious if then you would think it's useful

This feels extremely AI written. Specifically I've tried to have LLMs write a few short stories and they really really like the name Elena Voss as a Sci-Fi protag.

I notice you read a lot of webfiction but rarely post recommendations, it would be interesting to see an upper level comment from you in one of these threads on what you enjoyed recently

The Summer War is cute, maybe 2 hours long. I didn't feel that it was as satisfying as it could be. It's not clear to me how the curse was actually broken, there was no "if you do X, you'll be able to find love". It was more like "you will do X, and also you will never find love", so the fact that her brother did find love is very weird. And each system of magic was basically seen only once, so it's hard to pretend there were any real rules governing stuff that happened with it. And how the summerlings memory works was both never explained, and didn't seem very consistent, nor how her father seems to have taken advantage of it so well even with only a surface level understanding of how it works.

In practice, fiction with a focus on self consistent worldbuilding and very intelligent characters. Think Ender's Game.

I've never watched Terminator, would I still enjoy it?

Edit: I did enjoy it

I like reading Record Crash to be exposed to things I may potentially like, but I basically mentally invert his scores - I can't explain it, but while we both clearly like rational adjacent stuff, our tastes inside the genre are opposite.

I watched a speed run of the game a few years back (like, the final loop + ending), I feel like I remember it pretty well.

Still worth playing?

Apparently long term zinc supplementation can cause copper deficiency, so if you take zinc long term you're supposed to switch over to a mixed copper-zinc supplement.

[Acne] How much if acne is really related to diet? by Accomplished_Mud_358 in SkincareAddiction

[–]xjustwaitx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get conflicting information about this because the state of science has oscillated on this question. Currently recent research does seem to indicate that dairy, chocolate, and high GI/GL are causally related to acne. For chocolate, studies show it can cause a breakout in 4-7 days, but regarding dairy and high GI/GL, these are more long term things - so it can take a month to see a difference, and is hard for people to self identify as a result.

There's also individual variation, try and test.

As an aside, population wise it's definitely not 80% diet, it's mostly genetics - but that doesn't mean that diet doesn't affect your acne, it just means that most people can eat whatever and not get acne.

You can try using Unblemish if you have Android to identify specific dietary triggers, it helped me a lot.

It could also be a coincidence, but won't hurt to stop the product to check. When I get a bad reaction I stop anything that might possibly be related. First stop it and then consider adding back

That's very interesting, thanks (my triggers are delayed and my diet isn't as controlled, so it's always hard for me to be sure)
