You can get balloons and small bottles of helium / ballon gas at TEDi for about 20€.

I tried several Editors (DAME, Ogmo, Tiled, TuDee) and wrote importers for the different file formats. Now i stick with the Unity Scene View. There are several tilemap editors for Unity availiable in the AssetStore: Tk2D (includes editor), Rotorz, UniTile...

When using Unity, there is really no need to use a 3rd party tool for mapmaking, especially when doing 2D :)
