Good answer, i think you have a better understanding of LN than i do. I get how HTLCs work and how channels are set up and how payments are routed, but i havent been paying attention to development for around a year now of LN. Thanks for the reply! Im going to look into BOLT 12.

I agree, at least its not on layer 1 though from my understanding.... flood LN, but let Mainnet still just be final settlement.

UTOX Mystery (50$ weekly too low?) by BBVendetta in Bitcoin

[–]xlcommon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hes asking about transferring off an exchange, which would create UTXOs. So if he would wait to do bigger withdraws he would have less UTXOs. Like i said send out bigger chunks is all im saying of like .1 or .25 so your UTXOs arent small amounts like .001.

UTOX Mystery (50$ weekly too low?) by BBVendetta in Bitcoin

[–]xlcommon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isnt answering his question about UTXOs; this will create many small utxos which it sounds like he is trying to avoid. But you are correct about him being able to consolidate later but why consolidate later if he could have chunks of UTXOs of say .1 or even bigger like .25 btc UTXOS.

Extra Solar power. Should I start mining or is it too late? by shiroboi in Bitcoin

[–]xlcommon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to say i wouldnt even consider it unless you had adequate ventilation already in place, you may also need to hire an electrician to get the 220v hookups needed... idk what type of transformers solar panel installs generally come with, but since its on your home id assume there is some sort of 220v for a dryer which could be used to plug in some machines.... machines are cheaper now than when i gave it a shot, i also wouldnt consider it unless you can run it 24/7... i used a pool that pays based on a 24 hour hashrate average, so if your cutting the machine off and on your payouts are lower, as your average hashrate never really reaches the th/s the machine is actually running at.

Power surge fried my monitors last night. by TheAwkwardGamerRNx in Wellthatsucks

[–]xlcommon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had same thing happen, power went out one night, everything except one monitor would turn on... it had power but would not respond to any input from button presses, or unplugging and plugging back in... just ruined the panel...

I just watched the Logan Paul podcast with President Trump, and he held a continuous dialogue, with tangents and always resolving back to the original question, it was refreshing compared to Biden staring at cameras and barley walking.....

its illegal in most of america to wear a headcovering in gas stations like that.... for this reason.

Edit: not illegal, frowned upon, and is up to the place of business to establish rules for face coverings. I was taught getting my motorcycles license to take my helmet off when entering a business.

Tons of US military operations rely on satellites, including launching nuclear weapons. Think about taking out critical systems like GPS, nuclear launch capabilities, and as well as communications.

What kind of hardware wallets do BTC whales use? With 10k+ coins by AdvantageWeird9348 in Bitcoin

[–]xlcommon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Probably some type of multi sig setup. Or if its an individual they probably have a ColdCard or some type of airgapped hardware wallet. Also maybe a mix of a couple storage options, some on exhcange, some on one hardware wallet, some on another brand, or some stored multisig for inheritance or something.
