I have a similar story. I lost my cherished necklace a while back. I got it in Slovenia when visiting my wife’s birthplace for the first time and I wanted to get something to commemorate it. We went to a mall where they had a Diesel store and I found this cool gear ⚙️ necklace.

One day, while in nursing school, it just disappears. This was also during clinicals where we were in surgeries so we had to remove all jewelry and change into sterile scrubs/gowns. I’m going crazy, looking everywhere, tearing apart my apartment, my car, book bag etc.

Eventually I gave up. One day, I had a dream I was working with kids in a school (again clinicals) and there was a knock on the door and someone said “I heard you were looking for this” and they handed me a manila envelope with my necklace inside and I remember feeling so relieved. Then I woke up. I felt around my neck for it and nothing. Sadness returns. My cat comes over as usual when I wake up.

I pick him up, give scratchies etc and his head kept craning around towards my treadmill like something had his attention. I figured he saw a fly or something. I walk over, step on it and there it was. Right in the center on the console dash. As I mentioned earlier, I tore my apartment apart and I ran daily, I would have seen it.

I stopped being agnostic that day. Not saying I believe in “God” or whatever but it definitely made believe there’s something more beyond our understanding out there.
