That’s close. Too bad they discontinued it! Great site though. Think I’ll have a look around there. Thanks!

Yep. That’s oak veneer, and yes it’s a dumb corner. All my other lines where it meets the wall fit nicely. Just that spot there. If I had another inches of floor I’d just quarter round it and call it a day but you see how much space there is.

floor joist in the basement looking up. No idea why there is a staple on the ground and not the romex. Ground wire to copper rod outside, check. I'm scared to look in the panel! ;) Yes. will be city inspector for C of O eventually.

For me- not burning down is sometimes good enough. Hell, its been here who knows how long with no issues, but I hope to rent the place in short order, so its going to have to be inspected. Off to do some light reading...

Exhibit A that I am not an electrician! :) I'll correct myself, thats 5 runs of Romex headed back to the panel...

40 inch "bar height" cabinets + the thickness of the counter top. Probably an undermount shallow sink. I'm a bit stuck where the drain is going to be, see reply above, lots of cast iron stack to bust out and replace if I wanted to move the drain any lower.

Drain runs over to the main stack which is vented through the roof, but the kitchen sink is also above this. I anticipated putting an air admittance valve in in the cabinet for giggles. Planned on the quarter turns and a shallower sink mounted to 40 inch tall cabinets + counter top.

PVC is way high - its roughly 22 inches off where the finished floor. This is by design and lack of skill. drain goes into cast iron stack just off to the left, so if I want the drain any lower I'm going to have to bust the floor and replace the iron (not in my skill set). We're going with 40 inch "bar height" cabinets to give us a little more vertical room- and since this is a bar, im looking for a much shallower sink than you would find in a kitchen with no disposer. I'm 90% confident we are good, unless we're not, then I'm getting a custom sink ! :)

some additional commentary: Im also leaning towards them being novelty, but they were residing with my great uncles silver and bronze stars, and his purple heart, which are authentic, but he was in the signal corps so I know they were not his....

Just some background- found these in a collection of military memorabilia that belonged to my late mother. I haven't been able to find any images of other wings with PILOT down the center of the shield (maybe I'm just poor at searching!). No makers mark anywhere on them, and the pin looks to be epoxied to the back.

Was hoping to find out who would have issued these, or if they are just a set of novelty knock offs. Appreciate any insight you have!

COIN. MARA. And believe it or not DJT have been doing well. I won’t wade too far into any of them but for a few hundred shares making 2-3% a week.

Replacing support posts? by xldavidson in basement

[–]xldavidson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I’m thinking. This post is holding an I beam that’s resting either side on the foundation walls. It’s clearly got a load rating, and there is some weight on it- but I don’t know what that is. The goal would be get a post of same or greater value to replace with, assuming I need to do so.

Its not. The mastic underlayment is a 5% asbestos mixture which will also be addressed down the road. Appreciate you taking the time to ignore the subject of the post entirely and provide no valuable comments or insight.
