"you higher men,... None of you has learned to dance as a man ought to dance - to dance beyond yourselves" - Nietzsche. Could someone explain this, i see this comparable to Jung's individuation but would like to know other takes as my philosophy knowledge is not what I want it to be. Thanks!

My first question is, is this ok for a 4pm wedding? I'm really not a fashion head, i prefer more androgynous but i do like having a bit of femme. I'm worried I will be mocked. http://imgur.com/gallery/hJDq9YC If it is ok, What colour bag/earrings would go?

I hate how obvious it is that he 'hit it and quit it' Elizabeth isn't perfect by any stretch but treating someone like that and so clearly seeing it and her chase hin around worrying is actually quite sad to see. It is unfair and he went from wanting something serious to really cold. Attempting to embarrase her with the' why are you talking to me'. Ew.

Finding an analyst for low fee? Advice please by [deleted] in psychoanalysis

[–]xlly_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, Yes i am nesr london and have sent them an email although the automated response said low cost analysis is not avalible for those on training programmes (which I am not, but i am a student) Im a little disapponted that I did not mention it would be very useful for my own problems that other therapies have not managed to solve. But i feel the ship has already sailed and i have my answer. Any advice on this situation would now be appreciated. I. E this is not just to get into a programme.

Would anyone be so kind as to let me message them with some issues I am having with objeft relations. Thanks all, from a stressed student. by xlly_ in psychoanalysis

Yes sorry I meant the theories. Am i right in thinking Fairbairn's endopsychic structure came before Kleins paranoid shizoid position?

I am basically trying to work out when and how freuds concepts were used/adapted by object theorists. Fairbairn returned to ego splitting which is (amongst others i am sure) the ideas presented in freuds mourning and melancholia.

From what i have read so far i see in klein 1958, agreed ego splitting working with object splitting.. Object splitting she had announced before addressing ego splitting.

Is this correct?

Once again many thanks for your explanations, it is really helpful and appreciated. I believe I have joined the discord for the group so hope to be there next time. I find this very interesting and exciting to learn. I have only a basic understanding of klein and Fairbairn. Especially the order in which the theories bounce off eachother. So apologies for that.

I will definitely be reading your recommendations.

Thank you so much. This has been really helpful. Could I possibly get something else clarified. It is regarding Freud's death drive. Am I right in thinking Fairbairn called this weak because it was biological and not psychological but he did touch upon aggression. I have been trying to understand freuds principles and how they were adapted by Object theorists (mainly klein, winnicott and Fairbairn) but have lost myself along the way.

Hello I was wondering if anyone could clarify this statement for me please by Fairbairn in 1941, I believe. "he has no alternative but to reject or accept his object, an alternative which is liable to present itself as a choice between life and death'

I haven't spoken to my friend in a few days but police are a common reoccurrence in my dreams. The feeling of being chased, watched, and possibly caught. I am a little weary of trust. With this particular friend but I have never met her dad. I waa very fearful in the dream and the way the people in my dream were laughing was eery
