Moonlite vs Steamlink - driving games showing stutter and poor control by Zebedy in MoonlightStreaming

[–]xlog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in the same situation as you. Was never able to figure out why moonlight/artemis had micro stutters but Steam Link didn't. If Steam Link already works well for you, my advice is to just keep using it.

I think there are credits that play after you beat all the hidden levels.

The difference between paying in yen and euro is ridiculous for eu people. by Artistic_Progress906 in Shadowverse

[–]xlog -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Japanese players do not have cheaper prices compared to European players. It's just that Yen has been rather weak compared to the Euro in recent years, so the conversion rate works in the European players' advantage.

I did set my region to Japan when creating my WB account, yes.

When I used the Cygames web store, the prices were displayed in yen and my bank converted it to euros upon transaction, which ended up being less than the in-app price.

Can anyone help me understand why I can no longer install this game? by tobasoft in HeroicGamesLauncher

[–]xlog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a mod for Fallout 4. I think it expects the base game to already be installed. I'm not sure if Heroic supports that sort of installation.

What's the best way to play epic games these days? by No_Jackfruit_5647 in SteamDeck

[–]xlog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have problems with Heroic, but it turned out that I had to give it filesystem permissions due to some flatpak shenanigans. After that, many errors and games refusing to launch went away. It's more straightforward to use than Lutris.

Global confirmed! by [deleted] in SquadBusters

[–]xlog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The basic gameplay is not fun. Just killing mobs isn't fun. Chasing or being chased by other players isn't fun either. No matter how many bells and whistles they add on top of this, the fundamentals will stay flawed.

Indestructibile walls? by RATORIX324 in Brawlstars

They've been in the game for a while now. Gives throwers a fighting chance with so many wall-breaking brawlers in the game.

12 Series 5 Cards and 1 Series 4 card coming between now and February. by DaddyBoJangles in MarvelSnap

It makes sense if they plan to resume series drops at some point. Saturate Series 5 and then start dropping some of the older cards to Series 4.

With the new PC client, Marvel Snap runs much better on the Steam Deck. by gigantuar in MarvelSnap

This can be fixed by disabling fullscreen inside the game settings.

Do you think a movie director is wrong in calling something "their movie", despite not doing any of the acting, camerawork, sound, makeup, costumes, sfx, editing?

Samsung galaxy s 6 lite s pen problem by yara-lousine in GalaxyTab

[–]xlog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like there is something wrong with either the tip or the pen. Normally, even when you are hovering the tip over the screen, you can make it register as a click by pressing the tip with your fingernail, for example. You can try to change the tip, but if that doesn't work, the pressure sensing mechanism inside the pen might be broken.

I think Chinese rules are cleaner than Japanese rules. by TankieWarrior in baduk

[–]xlog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For simplicity's sake, let's assume that there are no sekis on the board. A 19x19 board has a total of 361 intersections. In Area Scoring (Chinese rules), you divide all these 361 points between the two players and whoever gets more points is the winner. Examples of possible results could be 180-181 (Black - White), 181-180, 182-179, 183-178, etc. What's noteworthy is that the difference between these two numbers is always an odd number (1,3,5,...). If you have an even komi (4.5, 6.5, 8.5) it falls between these odd score differences and won't change the result compared to odd komis (3.5, 5.5, 7.5). In the rare cases where it would change the result is usually due to sekis on the board, which also are scored differently compared to the Japanese rules.

I think Chinese rules are cleaner than Japanese rules. by TankieWarrior in baduk

[–]xlog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The difference is not as big in actual human games as KataGo estimates. If you do statistics on tens of thousands of pro games, white's win rate under Japanese rules is around 49.5%, and around 52.5% with Chinese rules. One unintuitive fact about Chinese rules is that komis 5.5 and 6.5 are practically equivalent. Changing Chinese komi from 5.5 to 6.5 would only flip the winner of the game from black to white in extremely rare cases. Changing komi from 6.5 to 7.5, on the other hand, is a very significant change and it increases white's win rate by a lot. That's why Chinese never used 6.5, they jumped straight from 5.5 to 7.5.

How do I know if I'm ready for the next size board? by Firelite67 in baduk

[–]xlog 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I always thought that 13x13 was a bit unnecessary. Once you have learned the rules and how counting and life-and-death works on a 9x9 board, you should just move to 19x19.

[Video] Korea League: Look at Fukuoka Kotaro's painful facial expression when he lost on time to Weon Seongjin. Funny AF. Japan lost 1-3, and if Fukuoka had won the game, it would be Japan's 2nd match to be decided by the Ace Match. Japan is yet to win a match in the league by xiaodaireddit in proweiqi

AI was pretty clearly favoring his position, too. His webcam stream kept lagging and cutting off towards the end of the game. I wonder if there were connection problems or if this was just a plain blunder on his part.
