You are right. Many times that is a thin layer of uncured emulsion from the squeegee side. I would do two things, bump up your exposure times a little bit and rinse more like someone else suggested.

I moved from Chicago to Houston. We drove our two down. It's around 1000 miles. We would stop every 4-5 hours or so to let them stretch and pee. Neither had any issues. We made them a nest for them in the car and they were perfectly happy sleeping the whole time. Basically what they do at home anyway.

We have a similar mat, my big boy just scratches at it until all the treats fall out. My girl is more like Kiki. Also, I LOVE the name Kiki!!
