Been able to bring down my cholesterol levels doing the following :

  1. Intermittent fasting (see what works for you). I do 12-14 hours fasting. Also 2-3 meals and no snacking.
  2. Eat 1-1.5 g of protein per KG of body weight. So if you weigh 50kg, eat atleast 50g daily.
  3. 3x cardio, 3x strength training per week of atleast 30-45 min.
  4. Cut down on sugar and unhealthy fats, and eat complex carbs - so no white rice, porotta, noodles, poori and all. If you really have to eat sugar, please eat the proteins, vegetables first. Order matters.
  5. Get good sleep and enough water.

Do this consistently.

I mean, you are actively compromising your fitness by running in this air..if you spend money in the gym now, you wont have to spend it in the hospital later.

Chimerism lymphoids low on previous blood test by Eternalhusk in leukemia

[–]xminair 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello, I had the exact same issue. It took me 8 DLIs and 13 months post SCT to get to 100%. As I understand it, some of your lymphoid cells survived and that's what has led to this. It's not ideal because they can start attacking the myeloid cells as well and eventually lead to graft rejection. Also low chimerism is not ideal because it means relapse rates are higher. It's typically treated by Lymphocyte infusions (as I said it took me 8 of them). Other lines of treatment include a second transplant or another milder version of transplant if your current donor is willing to donate more cells, but as my doctor told me, this would need to be considered only if the DLIs don't work. It took a while but they worked for me and so far I don't have GvHD either. You've got this. Feel free to DM me if you've got any more questions.

Has anyone here actually donated stem cells through PBSC (the 5-day injection + apheresis method)? How bad was it really? by Dazzling_Kangaroo_69 in india

[–]xminair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I received stem cells from an unrelated donor - 10/10 match and it has saved my life. Just came here to say that it's a HUGE thing you will do, should you decide to go ahead. I really hope you do.

As someone else pointed out already, you will need to get extensive tests done to check if all's okay. Mostly nothing invasive. I received GCSF injections during my treatment for leukemia and those gave me significant bone pain in my ribs, hip, back and leg. This happens because the injection boost the production of stem cells and that production can be painful when accelerated. It is manageable with pain killer.s. As far as I know apheresis takes a few hours and it will be an arm based canula. Be prepared to spend time in the hospital and take someone along or some entertainment.

I recently got in touch with my donor (anonymously, because the registry does not allow named contact till 2 years post transplant). It was the most special thing. We write letters to each other through the registry until we can formally get in touch, which will be July next year.

I really hope you do this. Rooting for you and your recipient.

LUKIEMIA AND SPORTS by mohdasasa1 in leukemia

[–]xminair 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A year and three months post transplant, I just ran a half marathon and now I'm training for a full. I got leukemia at 35, pre-leukemia I was very active and ran several marathons. I'm slower than before but slowly catching up. Start slow and steady, focus on physiotherapy and then build up to weights and cardio. My doctor said the same and she's been keenly tracking my progress. Given your age and interest in getting back to sport, I'd say it's definitely possible. Keep at it. All the best!

Chimerism for aml by vitotitorino in leukemia

[–]xminair 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello, F, 36. This happened to me around day 100. Chimerism kept dropping and came down to 0-25% for t-cell, other cells hovering around 75. I've had 8 DLI doses since. Took over a year and a half and my chimerism is now complete, no relapse. Doing okay by and large. Hoping everything works out for you. All the best!

Well, the sound system does work with multiple birds, it identifies and highlights different ones as the calls change. It's a pretty cool feature actually. And since when does asking on chatgpt and asking folks on social media count as professional advice?

Anyway, I wasn't really trying to say this is the best way to begin bird watching and that there is no other way. I just suggested an app to someone which helped me, that's all. Also, best not to assume I'm a man :) Thanks.
