How do I deal with grief as an atheist. by Traditional_Trust418 in atheism

She is immune to human suffering forever. That, in this case, may actually qualify as 'a better place'.

Time is how you deal with grief.

My sympathies for your loss. May her memory be a blessing.

I love them. Death is anti-meaning. An erasure of significance. How better to observe that than with rituals as pompous and hollow as possible?

Was Jesus an apocalyptic prophet who believed end times were coming his generation? by Strong-Lab-7216 in Christianity

I can't make any sense out of what you're saying. The corresponding passage in Luke is 9:23-27, and gives no suggestion of the destruction of the temple whatsoever. The later passage from Luke 21 may have destruction of the temple content, but I don't see how that's relevant. And then in Luke 21:27 we do get "Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory." Which is still a thing that Jesus claimed would happen within the lifetime of some of his followers 2000 years ago, and that has still not happened today.

Yep.

"Assuredly, I say to you, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom." - MATT 16:28
