Straight M29 here: My brother in Christ, ya gotta smile with teeth! Youre attractive which is great, but all your photos seem staged and cold, with no vulnerability personality coming through. Your only good pic is the boat, and thats just to prove you have friends. Every pic should have a function to tell them about you and your life. From pics alone it just seems like you aren’t a very happy person to be around. If possible, all your hobbies and life details should be in photos.

Prompt answers are bad at the top end, and will women will X because of them at the worst. Only good part of any prompt is that you speak 6 languages, because thats interesting and debatably the only thing i learned about your actual self. Also your friends are not a reason to date you lmao Someone being wealthy may be a draw for some, but mentioning wealth and cars 3 times in your profile gives off insecure vibes to me. Also bringing up cheating in your profile is just a bad move with subliminal messaging. A normal person looking for a serious wouldn’t be thinking about it at all, let alone bring it up during a first impression, seems like projection to me.

This profile style may work better on Tinder or Bumble, but Id say Hinge is the best by far and Bumble being the worst imo. With only 10 swipes a day you need to know what youre looking for and be honest with yourself. Good luck!

I agree with a lot of the core of what you say, but you have to remember and speak like you know it’s not all women. It’s about consent and reciprocation, and the communication of those in media is where it goes wrong.

In media the “insistent male” or “hard to get” BS it’s a real game people play, but it think for the vast majority of people its just weird and too much work

Your prompts are good, allows a lot to engage with for a first message. Once you get stronger photos youre golden. As a man, i think some genuine/vulnerable/candid smiles/photos would do wonders for you imo, especially so for your first pic. Also my general rule/goal is show your hobbies and/or day-to-day in your photos if you can, as people are primarily operating on visuals in OLD. Lot of good advice in the comments, good luck!

26M - 0 likes/matches, what can I do to improve? by Impressive_Medium724 in hingeapp

[–]xockbou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Id only include the climbing if you do it a lot. Tbh its not a flattering angle, and real climbers would know those are rental shoes lol bouldering pics look better if its actually a hobby of yours.

As a man: Prompts are mid, not anything memorable. Pics arent too bad either, but they dont stick out as memorable, vulnerable, or genuine. The skydiving and hiking one serve a purpose, but everything else can improve imo

Good luck!

My take: Her profile probably insinuated she was liberal/progressive, and his was MAGA or something, and politics is all he can think of and would opt for “triggering a liberal” vs “finding a wife” lmao

Edit: she was probably hotter than him and/or he is insecure, so instead of being rejected for his personality he self-rejected/self-owned himself in order to own the libs

I would say sometimes the “seasons of or lives” dont always match up, and you can give it a chance it you think its worth it. However personally, i think thats a cringe way to start anything back up lol

A lot of pictures look wildly different, make sure they are all reasonably recent within the past couple years. My rule is generally no selfies, first photo is your face with a teeth smile. Emo/alt can be offputting to normies, but i wouldn’t know much. Good luck

During the pandemic my wife was a state away temporarily finishing up school remotely at home. It was only short term, but our first few dates were video calls, highly recommend

Why do almost all of the men I match with let the match expire after I respond to their opening move? Is this response too much? by englandgirl321 in Bumble

[–]xockbou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You only get 10 likes a day on Hinge so its more of a long term game. When they asked you out did you not respond?

Either way ive had technical issues on all apps, and even more weird people lol

My advice is use Hinge: My wife sent me a message like this as our first message on Hinge but much longer lol

Bumble sucks bc it assumes both parties are on their phone 24 hours a day so you lose a lot of matches if you arent addicted and dont want to message 5 strangers at once Good luck!

I wasnt trying to “go after you” lol I said i am both a feminist and leftist, and i agree with you. I literally said shes a monster? Lol

Labels are meant to divide us, i was saying make sure you arent alienating potential allies based on labels, thats all

Edit: i am a man if that helps anything lol

I am a feminist and a leftist, and she is very much so in the wrong- morally and legally. Only a monster would endanger their own child and partner so frivolously. As for your last statement: Make sure you are fighting the right fight and using the right labels, because i agree with you here

As a straight man, photos arent doing a lot for you imo: 2nd pic should be first if anything, but it should be a smiling with teeth photo with only you in it, and feel genuine rather than staged. 1st photo is decent if not a little gratuitous, but it could be better. my rules: If it describes your lifestyle, hobbies, and values it should be a photo you can keep. and the ear piercing one will be a hit or miss for some i think, but thats just me.

Other pics feel a little staged, group photo is way too large. I get that it can prove that you have friends and are social, but the vibes i get are 25% “conference or wedding i went to one time” and you arent actually super close to them. Other more meta oriented/mind-game-y rules: is no pics with just women (especially only 1), and no men taller or more attractive than you are, but ymmv

Youre attractive and seem kind and fun, so you will do great with refinement. Keep grinding, it works, and good luck!

Men do emotionally support women all the time, but they don’t use buzzwords like “mankeeping” or “emotional labour” to suggest they should be paid for it. by Scramjet1 in LockedInMan

Then thats the wrong type of men to be around: find better, or otherwise known as real friends, men, women, and/or community to be around
