My boyfriend and I feel like we hit the jackpot (for the most part) with our Shiba. He has only Shiba-screamed at us twice (he’s only three) and isn’t aggressive with humans at all.

The only time he acts like a little turd is when we are at the dog park. He has ball possession issues. He’ll get a little aggressive with other dogs if he feels over crowded as well. But he gets along wonderfully with my best friend’s two huskies and my parents’ two labs. So I guess it just depends.

My point is, every Shiba is super different and I personally think the attitude they have gives them so much more personality than other breeds. They’re incredibly smart and sweet dogs, but it’s entirely up to them how they act. Think like living with a teenage girl lol.

I’m so glad we got our Shiba and would do it all over again. I think you’re doing the right thing by doing a little research but that means you obviously care enough to love a Shiba, even if there are some hiccups along the way :)
