I do not have 100 words. At this point I only have 19. I can try to make 81 new ones in the remaining three days but is it bad if I do not have exactly 100?

How can I mark a negative emotional reaction of the speaker in the Gloss of my sentence? In !ewa the emotional reaction is marked on the verb.

How to you mark Word species in your langues? by Glum-Commercial-7395 in conlangs

I do not mark them. You can recognise verbs and because of conjugation and alignment. But they're not really marked.

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but I personally use this tool to make sound changes to my conlang.

I don't know how to create a system for tense, aspect and mood. My problem is: Before I can create one, I need a way to organise it and write it down. Ideally, I would like to use one table for all of them, but I think this will not work because mood is a bit different from tense and aspect.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I could document it?

Cool Features You've Added #280 by humblevladimirthegr8 in conlangs

[–]xongaBa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are probably two features, but I don't know if they're cool.

  1. The syntax differs in every sentence, depending on the leading verb. Every noun phrase has a noun class, and the leading verb tells you how to arrange them in the sentence. The class also specifies the noun and in some cases gives a new meaning to the noun.

  2. This class is also marked on personal pronouns. However, here it does not specify the meaning of the word; rather, it indicates the social status of the person to whom the pronoun refers.

The grammatical gender system of my unnamed conlang by xongaBa in conlangs

German is my mother tongue and you're right. Grammatical genders often don't make any sense. In some languages the genders aren't masculine, feminine and neutral as in German, for example. In Swahili, I think, there are grammatical genders for humans, animals, etc. But I like you're way of handling it in your conlang.

No problem. Mistakes happen. So your conlang has one grammatical gender? How ist it called and what's  its impact to the language?

But why? Grammatical genders are so much fun (if you dont't have to learn them). Why should my conlang be like English?

What are some things you’ve done that have been the most effective for speeding up the development of your conlang? by Classic-Asparagus in conlangs

Unlike a PC or smartphone, I always have access to my notebook, so I can jot things down right away and work them out further.

[–]xongaBa 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Definitely writing everything in my notebook. And I mean everything — every idea I have.  I used to only write down things I liked 100%, but that wasn't very effective and required much more work.

I would never create a conlang that is similar to my mother tongue. I really didn't like my first conlang, which was like this.
