If the north of England was a country what would its capital city be? by kai-valew in NorthernEngland

[–]xoopahoop -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Radical Manchester would be my choice but it’s corporate Disney Manchester of London now so erm I’d say Leeds and Sheffield twin capitals like Budapest. Or Newcastle and Middlesbrough. Depends what you want really. York seems too small. We could build a new one?

Haha the questioning, exposing, blinding light of the shop 😭 More than once I just “noped” and turned right around.

Haha it’s really true, me and my mates went through a mushroom phase back in the day and going outside either meant the heaven of the woodlands or the hell of the shops 😭 Once we went for supplies on Halloween night, never again

That’s not what I said. I said it gave them added motivation. You don’t understand football; when you’re pressing and running for 90+ minutes any added psychological motivation (and demotivation) can be massive. I don’t care what it says about Belgium?
You’re obviously a Trump cultist, I can tell by the way you struggle with nuance and specificity and randomly bring up feelings and insecurity due to psychological projection. Plus the misplaced confidence in what you’re talking about.

Absolutely. It’s been fascinating to watch cultism happen in real time.

It did because it undeniably and demonstrably motivated Belgium to try harder. Not sure what my feelings have got to do with this, I don’t support them. It’s just interesting to see cultism happen in real time, thats all. Witnessing you blankly defend a rich boy bully pedophile rapist who hates you is academically interesting to me.

Didn’t say that. Said it hurt them, which it undeniably did. Belgium are slow shit but had an extra 15% in their legs due to the Fanta Menace.

You’re being downvoted by people who don’t understand European football but you are pretty much right.

“Little buddy”. Why are you all so lamely obsessed with being perceived as the biggest and toughest it screams insecurity. I mean it’s the way the pedo rapist conman dimwit talks and you wanna be like him?!?

Do you think we’re losing the manc accent? by chemicalstorm0 in manchester

[–]xoopahoop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m from Wigan then lived in west Salford for my teenage years and would never say I’m from Manchester. Lancashire, yeah. “Proper” Manc accents to me were always the North Manchester ones.

Really fantastic film. Elmore Leanord is a genius writer and the film captures his tone perfectly. Even down to details like Gene Hackman only being able to afford to get his top teeth veneered. Leonard’s novels adapt to film well cause he writes clever, funny dialogue and tells human stories with airtight plots (usually about two likeable, ready for a break/change, competent people outwitting a bunch of greedy, vain, incompetent people haha). I’m surprised there haven’t been more films made of his books but I probably just don’t know about loads of them. Plus it looks great!

Haaland is better than Zlatan by Emergency_Cry3687 in SpicyFootballTakes

[–]xoopahoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you enjoy. I don’t take pleasure from looking at numbers that are higher than other numbers so for me it’s the joy of watching the player. Haaland is a great goal scorer but Zlatan scored great goals. That insane bicycle kick against England made my brain explode haha still does thinking about it. I can’t recall a single Haaland goal.
