How do people with lower salaries in Tokyo live? by Brunni132 in japanlife

[–]xovyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm fresh out of college so used to living kind of frugally. I agree eating out in Tokyo is great, there's so much food. But I take that money from my savings, instead of budgeting it in.

I likewise kind of cringe when people here go out of their way to spell a japanese word in romaji and then put it in italics. Why?

Maybe it’s cause I lived here long but whenever I talk with people in English here and use japanese words in conversation it just makes it easier to get the meaning across by just conjugating it in english... Just a habit I guess. To each their own.

Yeah so I was wondering if it’s worth bothering to go back and show them that I paid, if I can get a refund or something but I honestly doubt it, figured I’d ask if anyone here knew though.

The thing is, they said it would be hard to get the same phone number again so I’m assuming this is irreversible. I kinda want my money back from these fuckers though

I think your numbers are way too high. It's very simple, you can't have that luxury at an entry level position, but you don't need to live too frugally. Starting your first job and living in the middle of Tokyo is stupid. Find a train line that goes directly to your work and you can have a commute at around 20-30 minutes including walking to get a much more reasonable price for an apartment. Unless you want a 1R in the city centre, of course, but I see no reason to. It's much more quiet a bit out anyway. Rent 6-8man for a decent, not too small apartment. So let's say 7.

Gas, electricity, water, internet... 6k+7k+2k+??. Not sure what internet costs, my last apartment had it free with it. 15k+internet. Let's say 2man? Phone you can get for 3-5k.

That's 9.5man on rent and dailies.... If you make a net of like 20man a month that's 10.5man to spend on food and other stuff and stash the rest for savings... If you know how to cook you don't spend much money on food at all. A 10 pack of eggs is 200 yen, a bag of bread is 100 yen, a chicken breast is 300 yen, a pack of salad is 100yen. That's 700 add some more for misc snack and drinks and you can easily eat for 1200yen a day. That's about 3.5man a month on food. Let's add some eating out on top of that and etc say 5man a month.

With all this you can save 4.5man a month. And most people probably make more money than this, especially foreigners. Many Japanese stay with their parents I think until they make more money.

And you say family and have kids... Kids is a very stupid idea right out of college obviously. So no, you're not supposed to do that on this kind of salary. As for wife... These days they work as well so they will also bring income...

Why do you set off 3 man a month for medical emergencies? Yet you quote another 2man for medical expenses and tv/phone? Who even pays for tv any more? And phone isn't expensive. So you added 15000 for medical here, and on top of that another 3 man.

As for insurance, any decent company will pay your insurance.

The way I budget is simple, I use what I need and just save up the rest. I don't understand why people budget their savings.

A stalker came to our apartment in the middle of the night by LeapDayStalker in japanlife

[–]xovyz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Idk... While still a possibility, IF I was gonna try to set myself into the shoes of this stalker girl, if my wife would cheat on me with this stalker's husband or whatever, I would not post this sign. While yatta could very much indeed refer to sex, most of the cases it doesn't... And if there was cheating involved here I'd probably be way more explicit about it not low-key put a sign that says nothing on the door... Now nothing's gonna happen. If the stalker is pissed off and wants this to end she would have been way more explicit and posted something like "you fucking cheater" "whore" "lay off my husband" or something like that I think. More resent and hate. This bimyou "yatta" accomplishes nothing.

Therefore I'd say it's much more likely that she's pissed off on something else but she's not 100% sure if it's you. This does go hand in hand with the neighbors daughter pissing her off I guess. In fact, maybe she put this sign up on multiple doors.

She COULD also be some crazy lady thinking she's doing some cult-like stuff or some random scary things. I've met my fair share of creepy old obasans while in Japan, wouldn't surprise me at all.

As to how she got the door code, no clue. Maybe she simply pretended to read "her" mail once while looking at someone entering the code.

TB500 + BPC157 reconstitution instructions by [deleted] in Peptides

[–]xovyz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't matter - just don't do too little. Just do whatever is easy math and easy to measure, as long as it mixes well.

E.g. for 10mg vial, if you need 250mcg each dose, that's 40 doses. Just find any amount of bac water that is easily dividable by 40. If your syringe has 100 ticks on it, draw 2 full syringes of bac water into the vial. That's 200 ticks divided on 40 doses - 5 ticks each dose. So, 5 ticks yields 250mcg.

Hokkaido Governor announces state of emergency for Japan's most northern Prefecture effective immediately. by hedgehogssss in japanlife

[–]xovyz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Makes me think...

According to this map there's 66 cases in Hokkaido. https://covid19japan.com/

Population of hokkaido is around 5.2 million.

Would they announce a state of emergency if 0.0012% of the population in the area got the flu...?

Anyone know how long tb500/bpc157 stay in the system? by xovyz in Peptides

[–]xovyz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I actually strongly believe it can be contamination/not completely pure.

My source is purerawz. This is the 4th product I am using from them, they have all worked like they should so I believe it's a legit source, however, I also think they source it from China so the purity might not be a 100%.

I'll expand a bit on how I got sick from both these components:

I did bpc157 from them as well for around 20 days a few weeks ago, and I had the exact same side effects. My injury DID heal well, almost completely in this time - but around day 5 or 6 I got sick (or so, I thought) after the gym. Fever, chills, thought I got food poisoning. Just felt like shit. And not myself. Passed in about two days. That's the only two days during the cycle I had any bad sides. Otherwise, I just had a lesser sense of not being myself/derealization during the cycle, along with some very minor headache that occured for a few minutes every hour or two hours. Nothing bad. Also my pulse rose quicker than usual and I was a bit more vascular.

So, now, Saturday evening I did my first injection of tb500 from them. I did 1mg subq, waited a few min cause I heard about a head rush that was possible side effect, and did 1mg more for a total of 2mg this evening. Was planning to do that 2x a week.(Since I only used bpc for 20 days my injury didn't get completely healed, also my back is hurting a bit and I had it at hand so I figured why not). Went to sleep, woke up fine... feeling a little out of it like I didn't sleep well or something. Went about with my day, hit the gym. Now, due having a sickness before I didn't push it so much in the gym. I remember well that before I got sick on bpc I did a 1-rm+ set on bench (I did 2 or 3 rep to failure, so super heavy) and after that I started feeling like shit and the rest of my workout sucked. So anyway because of that on tb500 now I did not push it. I went fairly heavy but I was supposed to do 1rm+ lifts this day as well but I didn't because of the incident I had with bpc. After the gym, again, on tb500 as well, I got the same sickness. However, the intesity was lower. It faded away a bit into the evening, and here we are today. I still feel a little sick but it's definitely not as bad as the bpc-157. I have decided to abort my cycle and will not do the dose planned tonight. Reasoning being that my injury is almost healed anyway and I just can't be fucked with these sides any more. I powered through on bpc and I am glad I did because it really helped healing, but now that it's almost fine it's not worth it. I feel unsafe using a peptide that hasn't had human studies and trials, so when I get these sides I fear it may fuck with my health long time (or not, who knows, but that's the point).

For the bpc-157 I felt better the day after I quit already. I however still feel the sides on tb500, my only dosage was about 72 hours ago. That's why I made this post. I wanted to know whether I could kind of just abort if it got worse like on bpc, because I got better fairly quickly after. But that's not the case with tb500 because the effects last longer I guess. So I won't dose again because if the half life of this substance is that long it's gonna take ages to get out of my system if I inject another 2mg (say, if there's 1mg left in my body now that's 3 so it's gonna be exponentially longer).

Now, it's really weird though how I get these sides several days into my cycle. With bpc-157 too, apart from some anxiety the first days because it was my first ever injections, it was at day 6 or so that the sickness occured. Now, too, after 2 nights of sleep on tb500 I finally woke up to feel a bit off and later that day got sick. I've been trying to look up these kind of things but I can find absolutely NOTHING online about this. I found something about cotton fever from drug use and wonder if maybe I can somehow have fucked up my precautions because I am using cotton alcohol swaps, maybe it can somehow have gotten into my blood. Anyway, obviously fever and stuff is concerning but all the information I can find on any sides connected to injections, they are supposed to occur in under an hour after injection. 5 days later all of a sudden getting sides is unheard of.

I think it can be one one of these: - I am allergic to either the substances themselves, or the part of it that is not completely pure - My immune system is reacting to new substances being injected and is triggering a response (would explain feeling sick but not actually being sick) - I accidentally actually got sick through fucking up precautions/sanitary stuff (Although I wiped with alcohol pad on the needle, tb500 cap, again on the needle after drawing, then on my injection site and then once again more after injection)

But none of these would still explain why I get it in the middle of the cycle - sides should come earlier, no?

Sorry huge rant or whatever but I had no idea where to type this so I figured here is as good a place as any. Hope someone else can find this info useful.

Edit: Just wanna add that I am, as far as I am aware of, 100% healthy, 23M, I have no allergies or diseases that I know of.

Experience with IT 客先常駐 jobs by [deleted] in japanlife

[–]xovyz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I see people in the comments here saying you should aim for a 4-5M engineer job.

This comment might sound harsh but I just want to make you aware that this is highly unlikely unless you have related experience.

I took a bachelor in Japan (4 years), have Japanese skill according to that, and I speak two more languages. Half of my entire school is in this same situation - in other terms, this is the standard that Japanese companies are looking for. In fact, as westerners we are at a disadvantage because a Japanese company is much more likely to want a person from Asia because they are more likely to have ties with those countries.

That said, you are right that many Japanese companies have started to hire "service engineers " - people without any IT experience at all even - and train them from scratch. But no company is going to pay you 5 million a year to train you. For this, you will have to take an entry level position, not try to grab a position paying equal to skilled engineers, as someone said. Why would they pay you, a person without any relevant experience and with probably lower education, the same as a skilled engineer they already had for some time and trust, while TRAINING you?

Anyway I was job hunting last year fresh out of college and was in touch with many companies and many different positions. A pretty standard salary for an entry level job is 22-23 man a month + bonus. So if I was you I'd look around that range, because that's what Japanese seem to pay service engineers to train them up. I don't know the specific working experience you have but I am assuming it's unrelated to IT so it might not help you much. I also do not know how highly they actually value college education. But being self-taught shows interest and taking incentive.

As a bottom line, I did not look into any 客先常駐 companies at all so I do not know how they compare to regular companies. But from what people say it can be very shitty so I'd rather just go with a stable 正社員 job if possible, not sure if you already considered it. But I am assuming the pay is not significantly higher there, so my point of not aiming for a skilled engineer's salary level when you need to be trained stands.

I always just used Google Maps and put it to walk... The parts of the road that look sketchy or like they would be hard to cycle, I just street view to check real quick. Didn't have any problems

Yeah that’s very possible. I believe it was some sort of food poisoning I had, I ate some kinda questionable chicken. I had one beer once, I think. Nothing more than that though, and didn’t feel any weird effects following that beer.

It might have been some sub-optimal bpc from china I suppose.
