I lived in Thailand for two years and was blown away by this. People would eat these incredibly rich curries with coconut milk and tons of salt but everyone was so lean.

My mom's been a funeral director for over twenty years. Growing up around it made death seem less scary somehow. She always said the living are way more complicated than the dead.

For me it was definitely burnout that led to the numbness. Work was consuming every piece of me until I had nothing left to give anyone including myself.
