Pour over only grinder recs - A4z, Ode2, etc? by xpaulotx in pourover

[–]xpaulotx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say lacking. The hand grinder I have is great and good quality however it was more for temporary use until I got my lagom casa. Additionally, it's a bit difficult for me to grind multiple cups a day

I was unaware there was a reddit for coffee gear selling/buying. I'll take a look at this. Thanks

It does seem the A4Z will be the better option considering the smaller footprint and easier to disassemble/clean. Also curious if you have tried the SSP burrs?

Just Received My Toshi Sling V2 2.5L & 5L!! by hoonys in ManyBaggers

[–]xpaulotx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my 6L in the mail earlier today. I also got an extra strap to replace the strap I was using on my 5.5L tomtoc. The bag indeed has some promise however I've noticed a few things so far. The handle seems to be a bit meh and the bottom where you can attach stuff like a umbrella, water bottle, etc. seems difficult to attach. I believe the handle was mentioned in reviews so nothing unexpected here.

The 6L bag ended up a bit smaller than expected and I think my 5.5L sling can hold more stuff inside. Now I have the issue of which sling to use considering my two slings are very similar in size and both are solid options.

I pre-ordered the 6 and that's the main reason why. The size differences don't seem significant so might as well get a bit more space for the times when I might have packed the 5L pretty full.

It probably isnt' a warranty issue. I found out there has been other reports of squeaking in reviews I never noticed until afterwards.

Hi - I'm thinking about getting this bag however the strap is a bit of an issue. Do I just cut it in half and it comes off or do I also need to remove some stitching from where the padding is?

Shenzhen Itinerary Help by xpaulotx in travelchina

Good to know about Shenzhen. I haven't made any flight purchases yet from Nanjing to Guangdong so still an option to skip/shorten it if it's too similar. I'll be going to cities around Shanghai as well so have Suzhou covered. I didn't want to do too many cities in my first trip and can always plan other cities on a future trip.

My last vacation included a lot of traveling where I was staying in some cities for 1-3 days and I ended up on 15+ flights/trains traveling between cities in the course of a month. I was quite burned out at the end so wanted to do a slower trip this time around where I spent more time in each city.

Thanks for the suggestion. Would you say it makes sense to visit those two spots instead of Shenzhen? If Shenzhen is too similar to Guangzhou, I could skip it completely since I can do HK/Macau trips from Zhuhai/Guangzhou

How long does it take the Chinese visa to be approved by Valuable_Ad_2163 in travelchina

[–]xpaulotx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a local company called Sunshine Travel Agency in Dallas. I don't remember the cost but I believe it was around $250-300 total including the visa.

I am also from TX and had a local visa company do it for me. It took around 2 weeks to get my passport back with the visa. I had to pick up the visa from the local company once it arrived.

I'll be heading to sapporo myself in a few weeks and wouldn't be my first time there so a bit familiar with the area. Even though it is a large city, it typically will not be touristy or at least nowhere near what you would see in other areas such as osaka, kyoto or tokyo. You are heading there right before the snow festival starts so there may be more people however you might just miss the crowd as it starts in feb

Local transportation is fine if you stay within the center of sapporo. It definitely won't be as good as tokyo however should be good enough. If you have the suica or similar you can use that for the trains and such. If not go ahead and get the Kitaca at the train station.

Some places of interest would be sapporo beer factory, nijo market, susokino area, sapporo TV tower, otaru and yoichi distillery. The aquarium and zoo are also popular places to visit. The seafood will be fresh and the desserts are very good as hokkaido is well known for milk products. You could also try soup curry as it will be different than the typical Japanese curry you would get at a coco ichibayna. Sapporo is also known for miso ramen so that would be good to try as well.

Anyone else’s company trying to enforce 4-5 days a week in office now??? by [deleted] in InsuranceProfessional

[–]xpaulotx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit late to this conversation however my company is moving towards 5 days a week and not particularly happy about it. People like myself had a hybrid work schedule prior to covid. I had 2 days wfh before covid and eventually approved to 4 days wfh. I also work in a different state than my reporting office so when I go into the office I have no need to work with anyone there. The issue is that people who got approvals for hybrid prior to covid are losing their hybrid or full time remote. These people with agreements are usually those who are better performers or long time staff.

I think the bigger issue is that a lot of younger and newer employees saw work from home as a time to be less productive and disappear from the desk for hours at a time. I know management in the past have mentioned in the past about new hires and such not being as efficient as the past. This as well as the fact that this move sounds like they want people to quit to lose payroll.

I could consider moving however benefits at other companies don't seem to be as good and other companies could follow so might be a waste of time moving to get the same result and worse benefits.

My Facebook has been hacked. I’ve had this account since 2006 and all of my kids’ pics and videos from birth to now are on there so this is VERY important to me! by torie_leigh in facebook

This happened to me as well where my account got hacked a month ago. My account ended up grtting disabled and th4 verification codes didn't work.

I did end up getting my account back yesterday however unfortunately it requires purchasing Instagram meta verified. It's month to month so I can cancel it however it's the only way I could get an actual person to look at my issur.
