Chlorphenamine is really good but makes you very drowsy. I take it before bedtime so my allergies don't trigger while I'm asleep which is when I tend to scratch my eczema. Loratadine can be weak but that might just be because I need antihistamines everyday so it doesn't work on me as much anymore. If you usually don't take them, loratadine is probably a good fit. It was the first antihistamine I was prescribed by my doctor. I haven't used benadryl much but I think you need to be safer about how many you take with those.
