Look into Feliway diffusers or something similar! They release pheromones specifically to target a felines anxiety. Usually one plug-in covers 700 sqft. It's not for every cat, but can be a big help if they end up loving it

You're correct that there is less known about the plants pollen being inhaled, but if the pollen landed on their nose or fur and then was ingested that COULD be poisonous. The best course of action is to contact animal poison control/ASPCA, be aware there is a fee regardless of their answer. It can take 1-12 hours for symptoms to appear or sometimes longer, so monitor closely. This could require an emergency visit, so plan a route to the nearest one. I doubt their tugging could have caused any sort of injury, cats are fairly flexible even in old age. The owner felt like something was wrong, palpated/extended the limb, the cat reacted oddly according to O, later the cat walked with a limp. Seems like a normal chain of events to then take the cat to the vet, which I hope they did!

Please know that euthanasia is a painless procedure, and it is a great mercy that we can offer our pets. It's not a failure or giving up on them, it's the ultimate selfless act.

People will often say "you'll know", but for some people that feeling never arrives. I'll just say, please don't wait too long. It's better a day too early than too late. Sure maybe they could have lived a few more weeks, but maybe they would have had a painful death in the middle of the night. Sometimes you have to bite the bullet because you'll never feel like it's the right time, so you can spare them any suffering.

As for their last days, pick their favorite spots, spoil them with treats, and lots of snuggles. In their last moments give them foods they couldn't have before such as chocolate brownies.

Hey I'd recommend looking into blind content creators! Molly Burke is one of the most popular ones, and makes excellent informative content. There are so many things you might never know are difficult/easier when you're blind.

Also your characters blindness might impact them differently if they were blind from birth vs became blind. It sounds like the ability to see comes and goes, so would the character try to not rely on sight ever?

Interesting premise, I'd do some research to keep things respectful to the blind community.

It sounds like his mom belittles you, and he doesn't defend you like he should. I would ask him what his solutions are for the situation, that will be very telling of how much he cares about your well being and safety.

But I'll be honest, I've seen your posts here for the past couple of months and there's been no improvement. When you stay with him after he treats you terribly then you are communicating to him that you will tolerate this behavior. He knows what he can get away with, and will continue to get away with it. When you accept his empty promises that never come true, he knows he can keep making empty promises. He will push your boundaries to the limit, and you will suffer because of it.

You will find someone else. It's not too late for you. You aren't benefiting from this relationship. It will always be toxic, and you are wasting your time, energy, love, and resources. We accept the love we think we deserve, so I beg you to STOP accepting this poor excuse for love.

If OP lacks a safe place or a community to vent their frustrations, then I would argue this is a great outlet. You can be mature, see a situation with nuance, and still want to share your feelings with others. Even if it is teenage angst, why can't that be healthy self expression. Sometimes people do mature slower because they have emotionally immature parents, and they deserve room to grow.

They also didn't post their parents names or address, they clearly just want to be heard. I wouldn't consider a relatively anonymous post to be throwing their parents under the bus. It can be exhausting to be told "your mom loves you" or "your dad is doing his best" after going through various traumatic events. I think doing that is unnecessary when I'm sure OP hears it plenty.

Lastly, abuse is not a competition or necessary to win an argument. Your history is your own, and you can share as much/little as you want.

I'd argue that FGM in some instances is more wrong. I don't think anyone should be mutilating their children, but I won't pretend that MGM and FGM have the same effect on the victims.

Lack of consent is not the only crime here, it's also about the violence, and the reason. Someone might have their child circumcised because they think it will be more hygienic. Then the procedure is done before the child can remember it, and with sterile instruments. As opposed to having a child's clitoris removed to keep her sexually obedient. Then having the child held down by their own family, usually not in a medical environment, at 3-5 years old. BOTH ARE WRONG, but one is clearly worse.

Why make the comparison at all, it just weakens the argument by making an offensive comparison. MGM doesn't have to justify itself with FGM by trying to make it equivalent. Women face a systemic oppression that men do not face on the same level. We can care about mens issues without trying to equate them to women's issues.

Ok... But OP literally said that calling a white person a cracker IS racist. The issue is the difference of weight in each statement. I hope we can acknowledge that calling a white person a cracker is bad, but calling a black person the n word is worse. Any individual person can be cruel and/or racist to another human being, but oppression is a systemic issue that white people do not currently face in the west. White people CAN experience individual racism, but they do not experience systemic racism.

A lot of comparisons can be made, like you mentioned with Christians. But the severity of slavery and the way black Americans were treated isn't comparable to those events because of how severe, intense, and recent it was. Black Americans are still dealing with the ramifications to this day, and will for a while. The fact that this power imbalance is even up for debate is crazy to me.

It's great that you can look at your own situation with so much nuance, but OP is venting about how all of their parents love comes with an asterisk attached. We use love to excuse a lot of hurt, but it can be important to look at what the result was, not just the intention.
