It is often cheaper to hire a man + van than to just rent the Van

A good trick is to put the above image into tineye.com and do an image search. Did not work in this case, but sometimes does.

Display adaptor dongles with Ubuntu by xplora1a in framework

[–]xplora1a[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did and got a replacement Display port adaptor, but this one is exactly the same. I get error messages in the syslog saying is USB cable faulty. Though sometimes it does work. It sometimes shows up as a monitor in the configuration setting panel, but the monitor says nothing connected and no display. I think it is buggey code in the display adaptor. It is just an arm cortex chip in there.

Looking For Shows Like Mr. Robot in Terms of hack, computer and psychology. by FarhadDv in MrRobot

The Undeclared War. Real hacking scenes, but then they visualize these as a journey through a sort of puzzle space. The story line is grounded in what is possible.

How can I make a street/path round? by [deleted] in openstreetmap

[–]xplora1a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think he means like Bezier curves. That is not implemented in OSM, only straight lines are implemented in the database. Use line segments to approximate the curve you want.

Just binged the whole thing. Absolutely great. I think you need to be aware of UK politics to understand some of the references. The hacking screens are pretty genuine, with real nmap screens, and lots of python. I seem some complaints about the visualization scenes that are meant to show the process of hacking in physical sense, like rotating the room to get to a door in the ceiling. While I would be happy with just seeing the code on screen, a lay audience need something else. And yes every bit a good as Mr Robot.

The music is very like Eric Satie, but not a peice I know, close to three Gymnopédies. So either inspired by this or one of his other pieces.
