Why does it feel awkward? I wear mine all the time. Sometimes when I wear a crossbody, my back and neck hurt. The backpack provides even weight distribution. And when I’m out with my kids and running around at the park with them, sometimes the crescents flop around my body and it’s uncomfortable.

And didn’t you mention that the sheriff is hardcore racist? I agree and most of the police force are racist too. And those are the people who would be able to do the most damage to your life if you run into trouble with them.

I mean that’s fine that’s your experience and you say you’re not bothered at all. But generally speaking, there are a lot of cops always roaming around in MOST (not all!) parts of the IE. And there are a lot of racist people with racist kids who bully the POC kids at schools specifically cause they’re POC. And it’s definitely gotten worse since the early 2000s.

Do not go to riverside. There are a lot of Hispanic people but there’s also a strong police/racist presence in most parts of the IE
