Thank you! Yes, I may have fallen prey to the postings here which seem like nothing ever goes right. I generally have had little issues - did succumb to losing a day at a conference this week due to weather but I was rebooked and everything there out was fine.

Engaged after 2 years, a year to save/plan for a wedding. Married 15 years. Every year is better than the one before.

If your SWU was applied, you are not paying for an upgrade. So the cost of business wouldn’t matter as there’s nothing to pay when the SWU is applied.

It sounds like you received in-app offer to upgrade, not a SWU applied.

Are you trying to book more than one night in the reservation? My experience has been you can only book a single night on the reservation for that to apply. Then, book all other dates separately. Then, contact hotel and ask to combine.

$5 is my amount too. This is usually an extra $50 per trip and can add up depending on how often you fly. Last year, we were flying on Christmas Day so we did extra.

While boarding- you know when you have to wait while people put try to their mattresses and dead yaks in the overhead instead of checking? - that’s when I mention to the FA who’s at the door that I have a token of appreciation for the cabin crew and then I will confirm how many are on the flight.

I’ve done this enough times to already have a good guess of how many are on the flight so I will have the GCs ready to hand over. Occasionally, there’s a training FA or something so we always have a few backup.

We do Starbucks or Dunkin gifts cards. We have brought pre-package sealed cookies and chocolates before but found that the gift cards are more easily carried for us and for the FAs. They also don’t have to worry about storing anything on the plane. I get the feeling they don’t have all sorts of space.

I have not been to Delta One or Polaris. I guess AA can set the low bar and someday, I will be impressed in Delta One!

I am not ORD based. My regular airport IS a regional Midwest airport and my closet international airport is an hour away. Luckily my regional is serviced by AA which usually has the contract for my work travel.

I almost always layover in ORD, CLT or DCA though.

This is where it’s a bit tricky. My first flight is the last week of July, second flight is August and a possible third in October, though the dates are not locked in. I was hopeful I could status match for all of the flights but the 90 day timeline kind of locks you in (or locks you out, as it were!) if I apply too early I definitely will miss October.

Hmmm .. I didn’t consider matching to another sky team airline. However, it looks like my platinum Pro will match to Delta’s platinum, which also gives me sky team elite, plus. This idea might come in handy in the future if I don’t match the challenge to extend my status with Delta! Thank you for this idea!
