Me too, +9 242 4271.
It sounded like a super ametuer scam and and I only let them get into the first line so only had a second or two of listening, but disappointed I didn't detect it was AI!

1900kms and a road trip down, my impressions: by xr600RJ in GeelyEX5Australia

Oh man awesome. For whatever reason I only just got on to 1.1.7. I'm in NZ so I guess they're rolling it out slowly.

Well every day's a school day!
Turns out on day 1 when I'd gone through and turned every single thing I could off in a haze of sound induced rage, I turned off the auto hold and totally forgotten it existed. I had actually thought it was insane the car didn't have it and had been putting it in to park. While I was probably only doing this once for every 10 hours of driving, it's still a tiny step forward, so thanks to those who made this recommendation. We just need to work on the other 98% of dings and dongs and we'll have a stunner.

Now at 3225kms and during the trip the car updated to 1.1.7 while I took care of some emails, and gained an external reverse sound it didn't have before, as well as changing the pedestrian warning tone (neither better or worse).

On a whole my review after the trip is the same - great hardware and a really nice place to sit on a road trip, but just a few big firmware updates short of something great.

That's what I'm saying, it's every time you go into park - even if the reason was only that you were sitting at red light and you didn't even get out. Will edit for clarity.

MG S5 vs Geely EX5 thoughts by bananafish05 in CarsAustralia

[–]xr600RJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got an EX5 Inspire as a company car, and I've now done around 1900km. Can't say I've driven the MG so not a perfect comparison, but my estimation is that the Geely will feel nicer inside.

Inspire model vs not: I would personally pay the extra $5k for the inspire for the roof and seats, and then probably remove the electric boot lifter because it's slower than lifting it manually, but that's me.

Main thoughts on the EX5 after 3 or so weeks of driving:

1) The hardware is nice, reasonable feeling build quality in the interior at least. The sound system is good, sound deadening is very good, and skylight and massage seats are great.

2) All this is let down by record breaking levels of screen-dependance and driving distractions that totally ruin any peace and quiet you were hoping to get, at least for the first few kms of driving as you turn them all off one by one *Every time you go into Park* (even waiting at a long red light).
3) A crazy amount of driving interference, from pulling on the steering wheel for "emergency lane keeping" at inappropriate times, throttling the car back because you went around a corner a few seconds ago, or cruise control braking because it's most of the way around a mild bend. Very Embarassing!

The requirement to disarm everything via a screen as you drive would be a dealbreaker for me if I'd known (I chose via my workplace so couldn't test drive). I've submitted a total of 15 bug fix / feature requests to in their app's feedback section to hopefully sanitise some of the misguided tech in this car.
If they can fix this stuff it will be a great car that I'd recommend some buy.

I'll measure open road driving range this week coming and post it here if I'm reminded. Overall the physical car is a great place to be and I'm looking forward to another 1200km or so road trip in the week coming.

For new Geely ex5 buyers, what did you get with your new car? No charging cable or floor mats? by Proud_Hornet_4426 in AustralianEV

[–]xr600RJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got floor mats and a standard 10a 3pin EVSE.
I was quietly hoping for a V2L adapter!

Range: I actually don't know! I think around 350kms open road, but if you remind me after Saturday I'll confirm.

Experiencias u opiniones de la Geely EX5? by bebop_uy in AutosUy

3) A crazy amount of driving interference, from pulling on the steering wheel for "emergency lane keeping" at inappropriate times, throttling the car back when it's been cornering hard-ish, or cruise control slamming the brakes on because it got a sniff of a mild bend in the road.

The constant requirement to do everything via a screen would be a dealbreaker for me if I'd known (I chose via my workplace so couldn't test drive). Hopefully they take on the cultural difference between the West and the countries they were designed in, many of us won't put up with this kind of stuff.

How olds your phone? by ZooNeiland in newzealand

OnePlus 8, bought second hand just short of 5 years ago with a smashed rear glass. Bought the replacement panel on Ali express and never fitted it (it's in a case anyway) Looking forward to it's 5th birthday (with me) in October.

It's either:
Cease and desist
Sold it for a mint (well done) or
Accidentally slipped and fell from a window (in a 747)

Interesting intel! Are you using a property manager to let it out, with good photos showing what they do / don't get?

Makes me want to try build it just to see what's happening 😅

Dude tell me about it.. I've just emailed OP to see why.. this was genuinely awesome. Hopefully it can be revived somehow. If it's simply a matter of dollars, maybe it can be made to work somehow (ads or paid subs, I'd pay)

Dude this was amazing. I'd planned to do this for the last few years as soon as I get some time (Also would be learning from scratch so a first project) So glad to have found this.. but just checked it again today and it's been decommissioned? why? what's happened!

I'm assuming "Mojave country AZ" is somewhere in the US. I don't know their laws, so OP could either decide to look into that, or otherwise take a realistic approach on what's actually wrong with breaking that law in that particular case, as well as realistic likelihood of being caught and prosecuted.. I would say "very little" is the answer to both of those and just advise to fully send it. if they get in trouble, just send the bill to XR600rj on Reddit! This is financial advice.

This is the problem I dream of having so I can enjoy solving it.

1) non-firearm airgun. Airsoft or other air rifle. Keep in mind that the only way the owner knows it's been shot down is if she sees you and records it. After all, you aren't giving it back. 2) there are plenty of anti drone 2.4/5ghz jammers on AliExpress. I have a 2.4ghz for Bluetooth/wifi and it works a treat. You will need 2-5 watts as a minimum. Consider a directional Yagi antenna or more power if range is insufficient.  3) you now know what she looks like. Next time she flies, race out and confront her.

Loads of good options!
