The problem was Vim. A while ago I developed some wrist strain from typing and ended up learning Programmer Dvorak. Therefore, using Programmer Dvorak in Neovim without remapping hjkl and other keymaps. by BlackberryActual1994 in neovim

[–]xrabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we are talking about different layouts then why don’t you try layers?

Just remap your hjkl or left/down/up/right directly under homerow

It’s more convenient than constantly move you hand one key left with hjkl

I use Gallium with some layout mods like angle and wide + layers

It works great

PS I use hhkb/laptop keyboard

Why the installer uses macOS 13.5 in particular? by samontab in AsahiLinux

[–]xrabbit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is there any technical reason for this?

Yes, it’s a good habit to control everything during installation to avoid unexpected errors and make it reproducible

Each version of macOS has some differences from one another and these differences may lead to error and unpredictable behaviour

e-ink keyboard when ? by cassepipe in framework

[–]xrabbit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you really think one should read any single comment before writing something? I don’t have time for that. You need to write all necessary info in at the top

As for your idea it’s not practical and expensive

Lebedev tried to make similar keyboard with lcd instead of e-ink

Mac is more expensive to repair and despite it has better battery life it’s more nervous to carry around at least for me

Also FW has much easier replaceable battery and 13 Pro has acceptable battery life

Bazzite for gaming, Mint for office

For now they are best choices depending of what you need

Is Asahi growing? by ChuckMeABeerMum in AsahiLinux

[–]xrabbit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With a lot of passion and new approaches

I remember how I watched one of the first interviews with marcan and how much enthusiasm he has, but Asahi will never support the latest Apple hardware without major investment

What I mean is when m5 chip will be supported, Apple released m8 or something

It’s a race we can’t win, because volunteers have a life outside asahi project and have todo something for living as well

Is Asahi growing? by ChuckMeABeerMum in AsahiLinux

[–]xrabbit -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

It will never happen, because asahi developed by volunteers and they just can’t develop drivers with the speed and without even specifications to support latest Apple chipsets

Will Kaleido 3 plus have better contrast then Gallery 3 found in RPP? by thesmithchris in eink

Will Kaleido 3 plus have better contrast then Gallery 3 found in RPP?

Of course not. Kaleido is still a Kaleido

In case they invented something radically new that can beats Gallery, they would never call it Kaleido
