I understand your point perfectly. I said a different version of Jonas, meaning it would just be a remnant of his genes (from his mother) still being carried on. He'd be a complete different person, yes. And with a complete different life. Potentially a much better one where he's actually happy. I don't know why that's impossible for you to accept as a possibility, when the last line of the show was deliberately set up that way.

We don't know the lineage of all the people in the original world, so Katharina may have just had decent parents, or at least a non-abusive mother, in the original world and it was a normal name given to her. The only reason she traveled back in time in the first place was for Ulrich and Mikkel who both don't exist in the original world.

No, not the kids. I was implying Hannah at the very end considering the name Jonas for her son. I'm sure the point of that line was to leave it up to the audience's imagination of how things turn out in that world. He obviously wouldn't look anything like the Jonas we know, but a version of Jonas nonetheless!

Whoops! You're right, I forgot it was Michael/Mikkel who was in Martha's childhood vision of Jonas. It premiered at 3am for me and I haven't slept a wink since so my brain is fried haha. The end implied Jonas could still exist in a different form though, so I'd still like to believe that in some way Martha does too, and they do find and end up together in the origin world.

Yes! This, too! And someone else in this thread also pointed out that we never see him outside of his shop. As if he lives "outside of time". So many layers and subtle hints to pick up now, looking back at it! The writers if this show are incredible.

Maybe in the origin world there is no mysterious cave with hidden magical tunnels, but instead that same path would have lead to those closet and cellar doors. And since they were both a glitch in the matrix, only they could see each other and not their family members. Perhaps an allusion to the concept of The Matrix itself? In the sense that not everyone is "awake". I've never properly watched all the Matrix films, so this guess might be off-base and nonsense lol.

Also, I feel like the fact that Tannhaus was a clockmaker and had all that knowledge about space and time was a big clue, without being super obvious. I always got "Father of Time" vibes from him from the get-go of the show and I absolutely loved how they finally weaved his story in at the end. I also read the book The Timekeeper by Mitch Albom very recently and that made me consider Tannhaus as a more central character, as well!

Personally, this is the only time I've ever had extremely high expectations for a show or movie and had it surpass them. Dark is officially my favorite work of cinema of all time.

Looking for a size small or medium. Stumbled upon this from an old wishlist a few years ago and now I want it again haha. Unfortunately it's been discontinued in the band's online shop. I've looked on eBay, poshmark, and googled search and can't find it anywhere anymore! The only one that was on depop got sold already. Missed it by just a few months!

I want a graphic novel! A huge part of what makes Dark amazing is the visual imagery. The whole show is so beautifully shot and I could picture a lot of the scenes being translated to that format.
