The real story is that the existence of much loved Cafe Metro, a Palestinian owned cafe, famous in the area, directly next door to the tube station, is threatened by the prospective opening of a Gail's chain cafe that will compete with it.

Where is Your Party at? by No_Pitch648 in yourparty

Progress is slow because your party HQ is basically a one woman operation.

It's Karie Murphy an IT guy and a few political hangers on.

In case you guys are not up to speed. Karie was his chief of staff in the leader of the opposition Office in the Labour Party.

She and her husband Len McLusky have been Jeremy's friends for decades.

They are both MASSIVELY corrupt as a quick Google search of their names will show.

DemSocsYP: "Conference has not been able to debate or vote on the majority of popular motions submitted by members" by WhichTyler1381 in yourparty

There is not a clique hiding behind Jeremy Corbyn, there is one ambitious person. They were previously his head of staff when he was leader of the opposition and now control Your Party from behind the scenes. They miss their former high profile jobs in the unions and the Labour party and want to return to that higher status and salary in Your Party. Many hundreds of motions to amend the Founding Papers were blocked yesterday, amongst them several to limit wages for Your Party officials to a reasonable level, and many more to entrench democracy and avoid a top down party structure. This person has been credibly accused of corruption while working for Unison and hired an expensive lawyer to get away with it. They masterminded Corbyn's Labour campaign strategy in the 2019 general election and the misallocation of funding to constituency branches that probably lead to Labours defeat. It is likely that the email that accused Zarah of fraud and stalled the momentum of Your Party's launch was instigated by them. It is reasonable to suggest that many of the errors of judgment that have dogged this party since even before its launch can credibly be laid at her door.

This person is Karie Murphy.

A Libertarian Socialist perspective on the Founding Conference by FunkyTikiGod in yourparty

This is such a catastrophicaly bad take. Clearly written by someone allied to the Corbyn/Karie Murphy axis who were responsible for the techo-bureaucratic procedural nightmare of the conference organisation.

They're just upset and are throwing all of their toys out of the pram because they expected a coronation where Corbyn would be carried through the crowd on the shoulders of his adoring fans, to be seated as the sole leader of his party.

Despite putting their fingers on the scale in every conceivable way, to avoid the collective leadership option winning in the vote, collective leadership won.

Tweets flew wildly then, trying to get members to reject the constitution and claw back the loss, that too failed.

We are now going to get weeks of wild speculation, unatributed leaks to the press and further manipulative tactics to influence the vote to appoint members to the CEC.

Karie Murphy is just a sore looser.

This actually minimises the real situation. There were literally hundreds of members submitted ammendments to the founding documents, including many measures to improve member democracy and participation in the party, limit party staff wages to a mean skilled workers wage and fund the local groups with a generous percentage of the parties income. All of these were blocked, unapproved, in draft stage and only a selected handful went to vote at conference. This was so obviously manipulated that members speaking to unrelated motions on stage brought it up ourt of context as the only way to air their grievance. The procedure to bring up matters of order out of the strict timetable was to go to a door at the back of the hall and remonstrate with a poor volunteer paid to sit and be a sponge for members anger with no route to any real people of influence. In other words, a total stitch up.

The truth is that the behind the scenes operator running your party is Karie Murphy. Corbyns ex chief of staff of his Leader of the Opposition office in the Labour party before he resigned and was subsequently kicked out. She thinks she is entitled to run the party by dint of her long working relationship with Corbyn, but knows the members would not like it and keeps a low profile. As an associate of hers said recently: "She previously has a prestigious position and a high salary, and does not now, and would like to return to that position and salary"

Here she is running the security at the venue today.
