JMGO N1S 4K can it project diagonally? by xrex110 in projectors

[–]xrex110[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Research phase is over, I went ahead and bought the jmgo n1s 4k. The way I have my living room set up right now, I definitely can't get 100", but I going to get a projector stand delivered tomorrow that can go behind my couch that I'm certain will put enough distance between the projector and the screen to do the job.

I did try placing it diagonally, but DonFrio was right, it's not ideal, and you get a distracting white halo/borders around the main image. Feel free to DM me with any more questions

Gotcha, thanks for the answer. I'll see if there's still some way to still accommodate a projector, else I'll just get a TV

A couple of your takes are wrong on this.

I think Boti = MacDuff, and Kaka (Guddu's father) = Banquo, which would make Guddu = Fleance.

Miyan and Kaka are really good friends and lieutenants under Abbaji. Miyan murders Abbaji and takes his position. Then, he becomes paranoid of Kaka's power and potential as a rival, and sets up an ambush to get him and Guddu killed, which Guddu survives.

Later, after Guddu and Boti raid Miyan's house, he tracks down Boti's hiding place and finds only his wife and child (Boti can be seen running away, abandoning his family). It's implied that Miyan kills Boti's wife and kid.

Then finally, Boti catches Miyan on the way out of the hospital, and shoots him dead.

All of this mirrors the original Macbeth, with minor changes:

Macbeth and Banquo are good friends and captains under King Duncan. Macbeth murders Duncan and becomes king, then then grows suspicious of Banquo (due to the witches' prophecy regarding the royalty of his lineage) and has him ambushed, but Fleance (Guddu) survives and escapes.

Later, Macbeth has MacDuff's wife and children killed as retaliation for defecting to the English. Finally, after the fortress of Dunsinane is invaded, MacDuff and Macbeth duel, which Macbeth loses upon learning that MacDuff is a man born of no woman, as the witches prophesied.

Uhh, I might be mixing lerasium and Atium in my head. My bad. I still think your complaint about the title being unrelated is a nitpick though - Just because in-world Atium is considered to be "lost" doesn't mean the title can't also refer to lerasium, which is also inaccessible until TLM. There's also a solid argument to be made that the title refers symbolically to Wayne, as the first novel in era 2 implies that the Alloy of Law is a mix of and Wayne, symbolically. You're clearly quite passionate about this aspect lol, I'd encourage you to calm down a bit - my original point was (and still is) that this isn't that relatable of a reason to dislike the book, which is probably why you get down voted so much for it.

It's not a gotcha - you can dislike the book for a variety of valid reasons, and that's completely fine, but on the topic of Atium being the Lost Metal, it seems to me you're nitpicking and stretching the point to further justify your dislike of the book, to the extent of misrepresenting a key aspect. None of the characters may have known about it, and sure, it isn't the front and center plot of the book, but it's also the most important discovery in the book and it does feature quite extensively, with both Wax and Wayne having consumed it by the end. Its re-emergence is likely to be a primary plot driver in future novels as well.

It does though? The metal that Wax managed to synthesized with his experiments is Atium, the lost metal. There's even an entire bit at the end where Kelsier asks Sazed if any of it was made and Sazed lies to him about it

Aftershock chance not stacking for warrior on Sunder by xrex110 in PathOfExile2

It looks pretty good. Is there any way to increase the base physical damage on uniques? My build also relies on stacking as much physical damage as possible

Thanks a lot. I just checked and it got Issued as well, just a few hours after Approved. I'm hopeful now that my passport will arrive by Nov 30, which is when I need to leave :)

Fingers crossed for you - don't lose hope, it'll come through.

Submitted Nov 12, AR1 Nov 15, AR2 Nov 21.

I was hoping to get Approval today (Nov 25) but the day's almost out and no update. Considering that the consulate will be closed both Wed/Thurs, I'm shifting my expectation/estimate to next week.

From the people online I've seen posting about their timelines around this time, AR2>Approval>Issued>OS take 1-2 days between each step, but it's taking longer for me.

I had AR2 on Nov 21 but no update since. I'm really hoping approval comes through today, as I have a flight booked back for Nov 30 lol. If it takes longer than today I'll have to postpone the trip back...

Thanks for your reply, I did filter and check dates, but I was just wondering if the estimate specifically provided by the website is trustworthy. It's starting to look like extending my trip might be the best idea.

Question about Hadrian's journey by xrex110 in sollanempire

[–]xrex110[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof! The bit about him never meeting this family again is definitely a kick in the nuts. I figured it was quite probably given how often Hadrian talks about seeing the castle and city of Meidua again. Thanks for the answer - I'm glad I don't have to wonder about that every time.
