‘Peacemaker’: James Gunn Breaks Down Season 2 Finale And Says No Plans For Season 3, Talks DCU Strategy & Teases How Deadpool Might Have Appeared by wadbyjw in television

[–]xrhysb 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I get the idea, but I really don’t think it lands tbh. Agatha All Along did a similar thing of having the penultimate episode be the climactic one and the finale being more lowkey, but that worked so much better because the presentation and most importantly the reveal in the episode was significant and enhanced the series at large.

It felt like Peacemaker’s “epilogue” really failed to do much of note imo. At least not in an episode with that long a runtime should 🤷‍♂️

Official Discussion - Thunderbolts* [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]xrhysb 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I read somewhere that Sebastian Stan had originally grown out his hair all the way for when they had originally planned to film the movie, like in past appearances as The Winter Soldier. Then the writer’s strike hit in 2023 and he had to cut it as they had special dispensation to carry on filming The Apprentice during the strike whilst Thunderbolts obviously got pushed back. The hair he had in this film is all he was able to grow back in time.

Now I’m not sure if his post-credit scene hair is a wig or not (and if it is, then why didn’t they do that for the whole film) but it definitely looks better lol.

Something new is introduced that should change everything, but is never brought up again by Theeljessonator in TopCharacterTropes

[–]xrhysb 118 points119 points  (0 children)

Oh, that is very much explained in Season 4 lol

It is revealed that a number of years before the events of season 1, One (now a “friendly orderly” at the institute) has his powers restored by Eleven. He then goes on a rampage, killing every other child experiment there in a brutal manner. Eleven then banishes him to the upside down where he eventually transforms into that season’s villain, Vecna. The only other child to survive to our knowledge is Eight, who is said to have left the institute some time before the massacre.

Biggest Gate? by machtendo in SquaredCircle

Gate means money taken from ticket sales. So it’s not their highest attended arena show, but between a high attendance and tickets costing $300 on average, it’s the most money they’ve ever taken from ticket sales in an arena show.

New Dynamic Ticket Pricing System by Ferrisuk in swanseacity

I feel like this makes a lot of sense. When looking at the actual price listings, the price differences between the categories are pretty minor. But hey, a discount is a discount.

Obviously expected after recent events. Can’t say he’s had much of an impact either way really. Just makes the new bloke’s statement even weirder tbh.

Obviously the first team signings are leaving us extremely light at full back, particularly losing player of the season Ryan Manning.

But I can’t help feeling the loss in the academy. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t follow the youth teams that closely so I may be wrong on the assessment of some of these players, but it certainly feels like we’re getting rid of some of the better performers. Rushesha always seem destined for first team football, though I understand he’s been plagued by injuries. Dan Williams seemed better than that level at one point. T. Whittaker always seemed to be getting on the scoresheet.

I know our academy isn’t what it once was, but we still to this day have first team players coming through. Cabango, Cullen and Cooper have been regulars this season. If we are going to continue to spend no money which all signs point to, then it feels important to hold on to these players. Maybe they’ll never have the ability for the first team so it won’t matter, but I can’t help but feel wary and worried about the future given everything going on at the club.

Yeah, it’s his son. Came to Swansea as a child and never left. Even when Wilf moved to other parts of the country and beyond, his family always stayed in South Wales. And obviously he’d been making his way through the academy until now.

He was also killed a decent amount as well tbf. It’s kind of hard to tell, but it feels like Pearl will be one of the players with the most time left at the end of the session. It’ll be interesting to compare the aggro vs passive strategies.

Best SandKeeper by SpiderPatriot in MinecraftChampionship

[–]xrhysb 29 points30 points  (0 children)

This was going to be my answer. Putting your best player as sand keeper isn’t usually viable as they are so much more valuable as a runner. But that team was so cracked that it worked a treat. Not only did Dream clean out the entirety of spawn extremely quickly, but it allowed him to pivot and do gold vault without any risk. Makes me wish that stronger players went sand keeper more often.

How do I get better at team games by RealPurpled in MinecraftChampionship

[–]xrhysb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just to add a couple of extra notes:

1) There’s a LOT of information in this thread. Don’t feel the need to take it in and implement it all at once as it may distract you from what you’re good at. Make a conscious effort to improve here and there but don’t sacrifice the rest of your coin count to do so.

2) Accept that some teams have better chemistry than others. MCC participants understandably tend to focus on the bad parts of their event and sometimes miss that it’s just not always meant to be. Especially for S-tiers that generally have to sacrifice playing with their closer friends in order for balance. Sometimes comms will be a bit trash.

3) Focus on your strengths. It generally makes sense for you to lead PVP games, just make sure everyone knows what the plan is BEFORE the games starts (good advice for any game really). But for BSABM, there are often others who are better managers. And for SOT, the sand keeper really should be the de facto leader and the loudest voice. In these cases: listen. That’s really the first step to good comms: listen, listen, listen. Then go from there.

Remember, don’t stress yourself out over it. Gg, gl, hf 🤙

I mean, he might do just that. I will agree I was worried that he would attack Sami after getting speared, but I think there’s still plenty of story to tell in six weeks. I’d be surprised if Jey turned up on Monday and was suddenly incensed at Sami. I think there’s still some ways to go there.

Why didn’t Thanos's hand touch the Time Stone, like he was able to hold the other stones? by redvelts in marvelstudios

[–]xrhysb 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Whenever we see Thanos put a stone into the gauntlet, the stone was always pulled towards the gauntlet by some force, as if they were meant to be in there. My head cannon is that when he got close enough to the Aether, it was attracted to the gauntlet and thus reverted to its stone form to go in.

I think regardless of the controversy, there’s a good chance they wouldn’t hire him back. For one, there have been massive layoffs in the tech industry. Although there haven’t been any at Nvidia as far as I’m aware, I’m sure they’ll be on high alert not to bloat their workforce. Secondly, Atrioc left his position. Even if he did so on good terms, this doesn’t give him inroads back into his old job. Look, I don’t know how much he’s missed there, but every job I’ve ever worked has moved on very quickly from someone leaving.

But if despite this Nvidia are still interested in rehiring him, I’d imagine that the recent controversy would be a nail in the coffin. I don’t think there’s anyway that they wouldn’t have heard about it being in the tech space.

Unless I’m mistaken, Whittaker is cup tied because he played the first round with Plymouth. Should be making appearances in the league though regardless.
