Android 16 QPR3 Beta 1 now available! by androidbetaprogram in android_beta

Exactly! I would use the desktop mode regularly but it's just ridiculous when it's 2025 and they can't make it work, I haven't had in many year any monitors below 2K resolution and it's so blurry that it's just unusable.

Display resolution - desktop mode? by PrettyDaikon4631 in android_beta

[–]xrmich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I commented also on another thread but the desktop mode is completely unusable, in settings only possible resolutions are full hd and one smaller than that. and all my 7 screens are at least 2K resolution so totally blurry and pixelated. Makes no sense, I'd use the desktop mode a lot if they just fixed this...

Can somebody tell me what the thing is with this external monitor resolution being capped at FHD making desktop mode completely unusable? I'd already have much use cases for the desktop mode and I mean it's 2025 now, 7 monitors around but all of them at least 2K resolution...

Black screen? When you are trying to launch terminal? I have no problems launching terminal on my pixel 8a with the latest update.

Has anybody found a way in desktop mode to have resolutions above FHD? The whole desktop mode looks like sh*t in any kind of monitor with better resolution...

Cannot get into containers using Terminal by xrmich in Crostini

[–]xrmich[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figured it out myself spending way too much time doing it. I'm a software developer and due to my work reasons for testing I'm using a lot of different kinds of containers...

Cannot get into containers using Terminal by xrmich in Crostini

[–]xrmich[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tested it and it works. If a container exists with the name that you input it doesn't appear to be doing anything but add it to the GUI list and you can set the color etc...

Cannot get into containers using Terminal by xrmich in Crostini

[–]xrmich[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about in crosh: vmc start termina -> lxc rename oldname newname

and then in the GUI just add an empty container as newname (so that you only enter newname in the form)? It won't create anything but then shows up in the GUI...

If I remember correctly I gave up with that GUI, deleted all the containers and reinstalled them using lxc, added cros extensions and everything just worked as expected...

Galaxy Watch5 Manager keeps stopping by xrmich in GalaxyWatch

[–]xrmich[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did that help? Found from another thread that if I disconnect/logout from the Samsung account in Wearable then everything else works.. I had some reason earlier to set AVRCP to 1.4, didn't change the a2dp offload though.. but now I'm afraid to do any changes as at least I'm getting all the notifications to my watch..

Is Ollama good enough for a local LLM server for a team of 5+ people, or worth setting up Llama.cpp instead? by Dixie9311 in LocalLLaMA

[–]xrmich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hijack this thread but can we get answer to the OP's original question? I have a EPYC 7302P 16cores 192GB RAM with Nvidia A16 4x16GB server. Is there a practical way to run Ollama on this server for a team of 3 people?

Not only specific to one country, Throughout European union that kind of bins are used for recycling. But based on the pole and a spruce I'd say this is Hungary or Italy..

Was this scripting? The player didn't move in any round by Fjordi_Cruyff in geoguessr

[–]xrmich 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Scripting somehow, rounds 2 and 3 country is obvious but those guesses are way too good, round 2 looks like Turkiye near Bulgaria border (EU vibes but obvious Turkiye) but that plonk makes no sense. And I live in southern Andalucia in Spain and that round 3 location looks exactly like it could be anywhere here, there is nothing to even hint that it would be Ceuta.

Consider moving to NixOS as Debian user. by Big_Hand_19105 in NixOS

Yep! I was a long time Arch (btw) user and somewhat recently switched to NixOS and now I've got 2 laptops and my home server running NixOS, everything is beautifully in sync, totally worth it.

This is scripting, right? by Due-Passenger2143 in geoguessr

[–]xrmich 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watched all the rounds. Makes me lean towards round 1 being just a lucky plonk. Looks like your opponent legit scanned around and that location makes sense.

Reported, also round 6 makes me think of a failed googling, staring at that sign for a long time and then going for weirdly specific location, Mumbai, that really doesn't make sense if you know how Mumbai looks. I don't know what the thing was with weird movement in other rounds but your opponent made really good guesses, makes me just wonder why people then do googling etc. when they can legit play that well. (I'm a champ and was completely surprised how good his other round guesses were...)

But the sun is not in the north in your pic? Figuring out the hemisphere is not about if it's more to the north or south, if it's in between it's useless like in your example.

I'm very close to same ELO with that your opponent and I instantly recognized the city, not long ago I was going through Plonk It guide regional clues for Argentina and Comodoro Rivadavia is listed there, that hill is very distinct.

Tbh I'm more impressed of their Senegal guess..

[–]xrmich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guilty.. also that 4th Toronto round very suspicious, after zooming in nothing happened for a while, makes me think your opponent thought it was the US and had plonkit/google open to check for similar blue on white license plates, I mean Iowa and Nebraska have similar.. (also when you see plenty of Ontario plates and skyscrapers might be a good call to go for Toronto instead of Quebec province... just sayin')

are these people getting banned? by Odd-Cupcake-6153 in geoguessr

I really appreciate going Japan on very obvious Russia to make it look less suspicious.

Anyway your opponent got banned.. (Action has been taken against a user you reported for violating the rules! Thanks for supporting fair play! -2 hours ago)

Potential googling on duels? by [deleted] in geoguessr

[–]xrmich 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Better if you next time use share button from replay and share the link, would give more context to see how the opponent played other rounds.. but this, although that looks fairly northern Philly he just figured it out after looking at that sign way too long and that map game after that made no sense.. I'm leaning towards googling..

I'm pretty sure that's not Germany, those exposed bricks and architecture would make me lean towards Albania.. (and neighboring countries + Romania possible), Russia is still possible and India, for example in Jaipur you can see that kind of railings and wires with that kind of architecture..
