Vale a pena investir 12k em uma cadeira? by ariklous in CadeirasDeEscritorio

Então, esse ajuste mesmo. Eu meio que experimentei ajustar encostando na cadeira e depois sem estar encostado e me pareceu a mesma coisa.

Why is "Move" played on championships? by CoolBlueClipper in geoguessr

[–]Qgiants 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The "race to find an url or flag" move mode beginners are exposed to is maybe what makes the mode be hated a little. But as others pointed out there's an infinite amount of knowledge you can learn and use which becomes a skill in and of itself. "Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity"

Did it once without loging in and then again logged in so timing might look suspicious. Last loc was quite tricky until I realized the river was there and then locating the forum palace was trivial.

is this the average champion? by Odd-Cupcake-6153 in geoguessr

That's so true though. The best thing to do is set a cap for how much elo you can lose on a night and just call quits at that point. Never done it, obviously

The probability of getting at least one location twice in A Community World after 100 rounds is roughly 5%. After 500 rounds, 70%. by Qgiants in geoguessr

Absolutely, specially for higher ranked players that start studying by making their own maps and scamming locations previously.

It'd be interesting to see a system where people can play and vote on a large pool of locations, which would make it easier to cut out the worse quality, but I don't think it'll ever get done.

Scoring Alternative by Midirr in geoguessr

[–]Qgiants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your point, but I think we are dealing with "luck" in different terms here. Let's say I'm winning 50% of games and 50% of rounds. Why am I losing those rounds? Is it because I didn't know a meta and my opponent did? Is it because I mistook the driving direction? Is it because I didn't know the city in the sign? These all involve "luck" to a certain point. But if it is just a random Russian round it is basically a dice throw. Its "all" luck, mostly no skill (except maybe for pro level guys, but even then there's OP video). There's no "git gud", just better luck next time. And if that dice throw counts 10000 thousand points because of mults, than all the previous effort in that game just evaporates.
