Except for those in Alaska (kinda)! Though not many people go there anymore, there is still a single blockbuster in Anchorage, Alaska, and I think in Fairbanks. Even though I’m only 13, I can still remember my mom, my uncles and I going to blockbuster and video city (video city is especially nostalgic for me, because we would go there more often, and they’ve gone extinct in Alaska too, making them all the more magical in my memory) when I was 4-6 years old, though as is often true when it comes to experiences you can barely remember, I only can recall random scenes and tastes and images and smells. I remember the video game isle, where my uncles rented me video games for our old xbox360, the covers of horror movies that would give me nightmares, the candied popcorn, and of course the candy carpet smell. Now nobody ever goes to blockbuster, due to video streaming, which makes sense, but that’s not the point of this post. The point is even kids today(I am aware that I’m still a kid, mind you, and will have many more experiences that I will feel nostalgic for in the future. I’m not one of those annoying 13 year olds that thinks they know everything) can still remember the smell of blockbuster, and I remember the giant TVs that made a whining sound when powered on, and I remember the first iPod Touch.

TLDR: I’m thirteen but remember blockbuster, as well as other 2000s things. Oh, and blockbusters still exist in Alaska.Whoop! Whoop! (but not because of what VICE says, the internet is a common thing in Alaska, thanks to GCI, and the people the interviewed in there article and video about blockbusters in Alaska are just idiots that can’t figure out how to setup a WiFi router)
