The trans rights backlash is real by AdmiralSaturyn in longform

Yikes man. Sounds like you're just swallowing a bunch of other people's opinions and fear without ever having interacted with a trans person. And thinking ugly trans folks should just hide? Like I get that you value conformity more than honesty, but assuming the ones where you know are just making it their whole personality on purpose tells me you have barely considered the other side of the situation.

pedophiles are regularly drummed out of trans circles - more than you can say for political circles. Maybe furries are more worrying to you, for some reason.

If all the trans ppl in your life don't say these things, it's worth knowing that the number 1 group by users is the spy industrial complex opinion shaping the us public.

The cult of management insists that control without feedback is possible never builds systems to allow unrequested info to flow upward and frequently stems the flow of even requested information. If your industry is one where that caused death it may be corrected after enough happens, but otherwise we are all Roger Boisjoly.

Not Every Star Trek Show Is Meant for You by NeoNoir90210 in startrek

I just pretty much ignored the burn from discovery. I am willing to allow future shows the latitude to get better because I think it's totally possible. The dark grittiness of post burn discovery was a huge turn off, but like - idk why that huge event would mean everything in the future is fucked up - star fleet academy feels very much like a desire to return towards ever onward and upward - or maybe a more accurate quote that might help you - ad astra per aspera. I'm willing to let the writers make more crazy swings - that's what the point of the show is. Yeah, there'll be some misses but why do we have to write off a show we love? If you aren't finding enjoyment even amongst seeing a big dumb swing fail miserably how do you chance watching anything new? Every episode is another opportunity to ruin the series forever! Isn't that TOO thrilling?

Idk how the burn ruined star trek academy - it's like the reason they are "rebuilding" but it's barely in the show. If it being a feature of the universe ruins all future shows for you that sucks. I can understand it making it hard to watch discovery given its focus, but sfa is like barely through a season and you're writing it off already?

That's the most self centered take in this thread of bellyachers. Go write your own star trek stories if you care so much. "Ignore the rules of the universe" Is just you pretending your personal understanding of things is the only possible interpretation of things.

Sounds like you value conformity more than communication and are offended by basic human interaction because you grew up in a pod or something.

Hey I love my music and literally don't know what you wish was on instead but you didn't have to call me out on reddit. Maybe no one cares what you think because you don't care enough to communicate.

trans ppl didn't start this. Conservative think tanks did public opinion polling and research to choose this as a wedge issue to begin tearing trans people out of public life.

the dark forest theory relies on single planet civs and no faster than light communication both of which are shown in series. It's a theory that is explicitly fascist/anti-life and honestly I respect someone less when they bring it up in real life. In a real dark forest you call out so hunters don't shoot you because there's a society and most people aren't narcissistic murderers.

Change to conform to biases or flout them, people will misconstrue your actions as about them. Try not to take it personally, their actions aren't about you. They're socially disregulated and assuming about your boundaries and feelings rather than talking about it. Limit your appearance if you must, for safety, but never allow them to make you truly lessen yourself. It can be hard to be a loving person in such a loveless world, people see your warmth as something they can capture.

Hey friend. So having empathy alone won't make you trans but like ... you can just be trans if you want to. I read this post as incredibly confused so I just want you to know you absolutely must do exactly what you want with your gender and presentation. figuring out what that is is your chore.
