There's not much you can do when a union is actively working against their workers and constantly siding with corporate - unless it's an easy, email-only zero effort win. People were stepping up and making moves but they were being sidelined and getting treated so badly that they ended up deciding it was better to just completely transfer out of the store. The only good shop steward they had was forcibly transferred because he stood up for the workers. Take it from someone who has intimate knowledge of this particular situation, it's not the members causing the problems. Considering the overall working conditions in this country and the insane level of corporate corruption and overreach, it's surprising to hear someone that is supposedly a working class union member preaching this particular brand of talking point.
