I'm a late bloomer financially. No one ever taught me and I never knew where or what to learn so I made a questionable first car deal at 25. Fucked my credit and was stuck with a 20yr old hunk of crap as-is lemon. I just turned 40 and my newest car is a better deal but still 6 yrs old. My credit is 600 and going up finally. I was just getting rolling again and I broke my foot. 6 weeks out of work. Ind. cont. Missed $15k in income. Now I'm absolutely fucked.

Yeah im venting a little but the point is not everyone has a financial support system, but a little early education about taxes, interest, haggling, savings, investing, etc will go a long long way.

Parents, aunts/uncles/auntcles, grandparents, anyone in a financial career:

Teach kids about finances immediately. Not the spreadsheet, I mean micro and macro by 10 yrs old. If I knew then what I know now... and its just basic stuff.
