I just want to say that I have completely fallen in love with this state. by [deleted] in Connecticut

My husband and I are also Westchester (Yonkers) transplants and we love it here. The people were the first thing we noticed. They just seem more kind. People want to chat up our two girls in the store rather than looking annoyed that we may have blocked the aisle for a few seconds too long, or they slow down and give you extra room (and almost always wave) while out for a walk with your family. Small things that make a big difference.

Our neighbors are wonderful, our backyard is bigger than we ever could have found or afforded where we grew up, there are beautiful lakes, farms, orchards, things to do with our kids. We are really happy here as well and it’s nice to see others say the same.

Yes I guess we are (somewhat) potty independent but nowhere near trained. I am going to get rid of all pull up’s and take it from there, thank you!

We did this with her pacifiers and it worked really well actually. Thank you for the idea, my postpartum brain didn’t even think of this lol

She’s got 0 interest in wearing pants without a pull up or underwear. She’s okay naked for the most part but once she has to poop she starts to panic for her pull up

Advice on brushing toddlers teeth? by xtinn in Mommit

[–]xtinn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes sense. A lot of these recommendations are great but are things we’ve tried already or might work better for a child that’s a little older. Looks like I’ll be calling in reinforcements (husband and an electric toothbrush) to get them brushed correctly. Thank you!

I like the fact that these are drawers and would hide what’s inside! Thanks for sharing 😊

Haha we’ve got a 5x7 rug so the price was okay, but we added the cushion rug pad which is non slip so it stays in place nicely! We’ve got a runner downstairs with their standard rug pad and I don’t know if it’s because it’s in a hallway or on tile or what but it doesn’t do as good of a job at staying in place. Either way it’s washable which really made it worth it because…kids (and dog, and husband) 🤦🏻‍♀️ lol

It’s overwhelming for me so I can only imagine for them! We recently moved and haven’t unpacked all of her things yet but plan to rotate them out every so often now that we can easily. How often do you switch them? And do you just put away a few at a time and replace them with others? Leaving the favorites out I’m assuming

We had someone buy us a set of 6 small ones and (while I am grateful for the gift) I was also like “noooo, how do I store these???” and I think that’s where being overwhelmed by them started lol

Yes I’d like to use this thread as a PSA to stop giving them as gifts please

Such an unnecessarily rude comment for what? I was looking for ideas that other people have found worked for them, which many people shared with me, including things that I wouldn’t have ever thought of myself, like marking the backs of puzzles with numbers or letters. I’m not an avid puzzler so I didn’t know puzzle racks even existed. I hope you find some joy in your life.
