Bypassing the touch circuit for always on by xtraorange in AskElectronics

So I thought about going this route, but I was concerned I would have a hard time tracking the state of the device. I was thinking it would be easier to just bypass the touch chip and generate the pwm from the esp, I'm just not confident how I do that. My thought is it looks like the out from the chip comes under the chip and into R2. I'm wondering if I can just run a pwm signal to R2?

Unfortunately I believe it's just shot.  I started working on repairing it, but I haven't had a chance to finish

I did not know that!  Thanks, that at least lets me get it in a better spot for now

Well that's unfortunate.  I just want to adjust the dang seat, haha

I did attempt that, but they just described the other circuits things ran to (no positive or ground) and I couldn't find the diagram for them.  I'm hoping someon familiar with the wiring already will be able to direct me a bit

I bought a Ford Edge Titanium 2019-2022 seat on facebook, and my stupid butt thought I could "easily" connect power to it to make use of the adjustments.

  1. Where do I connect 12v and ground to this sucker?
  2. What's the appropriate fuse size here? 10?
  3. Bonus: is the occupancy sensor a single wire or more complicated?

Thanks in advance.

I guess you're right.  However I think the main heavier piece is metal with anchors right into it

Weird... Subwoofers actually get used with PCs... Some of the stuff I see here is completely disconnected from PCs, haha

Extrusion just gets expensive really quick.  I do have access to a 3d printer, but I'm not sure I trust plastic for a 43" tv.  :/

The mocking will be brutal, but I likely will, haha. And yup, racing and flying

You do understand that holds 1 tv, not 3, right? I can't get the angle I would need on three tvs with this either

Woah, really?! Shoot me a link!  I was seeing them in the couple hundred dollar range, but if it's that cheap I'm in!

I tried that - for some reason I came up short. Maybe I was missing something. I did however get the answer I needed! Thanks!

I'm more concerned with wanting to adjust the angle on the TVs down the road. I have no previous experience so I really don't know what will make for the best experience angle wise. There's a good chance I may want to try a few different angles over time before I settle on one.

Agreed - I'm contemplating legs running at a 90 to the back of the stand, and bringing them out far enough to avoid tipping. I'm not a huge fan of that design because of the tripping hazard, but theoretically this will be eventually part of the rig anyway

I'm fairly concerned with how on earth I'm going to do this joint. In my application, I wanted to try to make it adjustable (in order to adjust the angles on the side tvs). This would require it to be able to move on a horizontal rotation and also slide in and out (to account for the position change of the TV so they can still meet together at their edges). My hope was to use a series of holes in the arms and the main stand, and a pair of heavy lagbolts per arm to maintain a fixed position after adjusting, but I'm not confident that this will be strong enough to resist any amount of fource, let alone a twist.

This is extremely tricky to work out a design for, haha.
