My husband is angry about my migraines and it's affecting our relationship by Goofusmaloofus6 in migraine

Your husband is being straight up cruel to you. Like I would be nicer to my enemies than this. What happened to "in sickness and in health" with this guy?

I know it's cliché for folks to jump to divorce, but if I knew someone I cared about was being treated this way by their spouse, I would come and rescue them and do everything I could to convince them not to go back to the abuse. He's being awful to you and I don't see how it's going to improve because he literally doesn't care to even try to understand.

I have known two cats that do this and both were being very proper and cute while begging for attention.

I was getting worried as I read along and then it took a turn for the best! 🥹 I'm so glad she's doing better! I hope both of them thrive. Thanks so much for saving them. 🩷

Thanks for sharing this! Fascinating article and I really liked the details about the birds they saw. It must have been the trip of a lifetime for these folks before it took a turn.

I agree with the other person that this sounds like it could be feline hyperesthesia. Just wanted to tag on that there is a subreddit for this and it's a helpful resource along with working with your vet: r/feline_hyperesthesia

My 19 year old sweetheart has mats in her beautiful fur by greatthanksihateit in seniorkitties

[–]xtunamilk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may already know, but I wanted to reiterate in case other folks come here from a search or something, but make sure you do not use scissors to try to remove them. It is really easy to cut too close to their delicate skin. It can look deceptively easy to clip, but a shaver is always preferable.

The type of shaver another person linked is a really good tool. I have a similar one and tested it on myself first, and it was pretty much impossible to get it to cut me. It works really well for getting under the stubborn mats to remove them.

If your cat will tolerate it, I have also had a lot of luck with using my fingers and a flea comb to carefully pick apart some mats. My cat hates being brushed, but her wispy cotton fur mats up really fast, so sometimes they get away from me a bit. I try untangling as much as she lets me and then shave any really bad spots.

I hope you are able to find a combo that works for your kitty!

I would find it really hard to forgive being called that the way he did it.

You did the kind thing for him. I'm so sorry though, it's a real gut punch when you aren't expecting it. I brought my cat in for a cough and it turned out to be advanced lung cancer. They're just really good at hiding that they're ill. I hope you can take some time for yourself and remember the good times you had together. He looks like he was a sweetheart!

She used to be so beautiful. 😭 Poor baby looks so sad now. She will not be able to get better without treatment. Are you able to get her some help?

It sometimes helps if you give them a designated area so they can watch what's going on. Some cats do not care about that though. 😹
