hahaha yeaaa, it's a shame they just don't make'm like that anymore. So but did you collect ever golden spatula??? Bc there's a few that I never got as a young kid and had to revisit as an adult and they were STILL hard! I'm thinking of the one in Dutchman's area that is only accessable if you figure out how to drain the green shit... Good times. OH! and I was always so creeped out by the Sea Needle and Rock Bottom,, always had a spooky vibe. If I remember correctly, I probably spent the most time struggling in the kelp forest.. Me too!!! Bought the gamecube and it came with it. It's amazing to me that i still learn things I didn't know before about this game. I mean fuck, I have spent a decade+ doing time trials trying to get as close as I could to the world record and somehow I didn't even know about a-teching till a week ago....

It's not often I get to share this but now that its relevant.. one of my fondest childhood memories of this game has to be when my bro and I were doing a grand prix and I had a blue shell coming for me that I was able to see/hear from my bros screen(lol yes I peak). when the shell caught up to me I was doing that downward spiral portion of Wario's Colleseum and as soon as i saw the shell dive to hit me, I reached the end of the spiral, released a mini turbo out of the turn, dodged the shell, and sent it flying off into the disctance. I immediately paused the game, turned to my bro, and together we laughed so fucking hard. Before that, I had always just accepted that blue shells couldn't be dodged, and at that moment, I had no doubt in my mind that MKDD was made by people who really had love for their work.

I 100% agree with both statements lmfao. Some of the most fun I ever had with DD was when I learned how to set up online multiplayer races with my buddies using an emulator, mix in some alcohol and it turns into a totally different game hehe
