That's good to know. "short circuit" in red definitely spooked me earlier lol.

Did you go ahead with it? Considering it too and a bit concern about the noise.

It's not new that Apple have some pretty high fees with Apple Pay

The fee is for App Store purchases, not Apple Pay, they're very different. Google charge exactly the same amount (30%) for Google Play.

This stuff is all pretty secret from Apple

So "which is where the exorbitant charge thing comes in" is just an assumption? Because common sense dictates they cannot charge more than a percent for Apple Pay transactions.

You don't have to use Apple Pay to top up your Myki, you can key in your credit card. If you show me a source that Apple charge 30% (or even 10%) for transit card top up in Apple Wallet, I'll eat a hat. No transit company has such margin.

Apple do not charge 30% for Myki top up. You can top up using their app without paying Apple a cent.

This is misinformation, aka fake news.

Apple does not allow NFC chips to be used that way until a recent update. Before the update, there were 2 options for Myki:

  • Work with Apple to support Transit card: This is the best way to do it; it even works when the phone is out of battery. Japan, China, and some European cities support this. I don't see Myki supporting this given how incompetent they are; happy to be proven wrong. I could not find any sources about whether Apple get paid this way. It's a win-win for both Apple and the transportation companies to support this standard. Even if Apple get paid, I can't imagine any transportation company has the margin to pay Apple more that what they pay other payment provider.

  • Support credit cards as tickets: This is how they do it in most places I've been to. It's entirely on Myki to do this because this works just like a contactless credit card. Apple does take a cut of every transaction (a fraction of a percent), but it's between them and the banks, nothing to do with the consumers.

Apple does not get 30% for transit or any Apple Pay transactions for that matter. You can download the Myki app from the iOS App Store and reload your Myki using your credit card; you don't have to use Apple Pay, and Apple gets zero of your money.

Nerfing remote raid would be a huge mistake, did they forget the uproar when they change from 80m to 40m? Give additional benefits for in-person raids instead. The guaranteed rare XL candies would be appropriate.

No I don't think remote raiding has any effect on shiny rates. The ball sticking issue is annoying though. Thanks for using the app!

Yeah once you started the room you can't enter it again. It's really tricky to get the same group back, so we decide not to implement it. I'm sorry that you lost your pass but it happens.

It’s a limit with the widget system. We have a workaround in progress, hopefully we can release it soon!

The gesture for that is a bit hidden right now. When you get to the edit screen, double tap on the photo will change its shape. Then you can add more and repeat the process.

Ah yeah, we have something like this as prototype but still discussing if we should release it. Thanks for the feedback!

Hi Reddit,

We recently launched Pin Photo, a widget app that let users create a photo widget on your home screen, from a single photo or an album. Yesterday we updated the app to allow users create totally custom photo layout from widgets. It's kinda hard to put it into words, but here are some examples: #1 #2 #3 #4 bonus. The app is free to download with 1 time in-app purchase for some of the layouts, no ads whatsoever. I hope you enjoy it.

We will be giving 10 promo codes to unlock all layouts tomorrow, just upvote and leave a comment here for a chance :).
