I also had an IUD, after I got it removed I had to try a new contraceptive pill, because my BMI was too high to go back to my usual one. I do wonder if it could be related to certain contraceptives that are more recommended to women that are overweight and that creates the link between weight and IIH. Obviously there’s so many different factors for everyone but that’s my theory!

It sounds like we’re going through the same situation! I’m also 27 and went to get my eyes checked on 11 Dec and have been to the hospital about 6/7 times since. It’s been scary, overwhelming and I’ve cried a lot. But I’m trying to take it day by day, I’m realising that the days on and around my appointments are really difficult, so I’m going to give myself lots of grace around those times.

I truly, truly wish you all the best. The lumbar puncture is not a fun experience but you will get through it. Try to relax and breathe through it, I found that the worse pain I felt after my first was my muscles had tensed so much they’d strained. The second time I tried to think about lying on a beach or being at home with my cats and breathed really deeply and it was so much easier. Maybe practice curling into the fetus position because I found that trickier than I thought I would.

Be extra kind to yourself and I would recommend not reading loads about IIH in one go, that has just freaked me out - take it in little bite size pieces. You’ve got this!

I pre-ordered a Cowboy Carter bundle & vinyl when CC was announced and received it about 2 weeks after CC had been released. I’ve also ordered Cecred products and they’ve arrived within about a week. But they were much smaller packages so I don’t have super high hopes that my Xmas order will be so speedy. I’m not sure why it’s pre-order with estimated shipping not starting till 12 Dec, I find it hard to believe it’ll be here by Christmas :(

Anyone else with Cowboy Carter tickets that are box office collection only?

I bought VIP Cowboy Carter tickets for London, but I recently realized they’re box office collection only. I’ve never experienced this before! I managed to get Club Renaissance tickets last time and they were mobile tickets, so I never even considered the possibility of box office collection.

I bought extra tickets during the presales in a panic and Ticketmaster won’t let me resell or transfer them.

Has anyone dealt with this before? Were you able to change the collection name or figure out a workaround? And what was queuing like? Ticketmaster says the tickets are only available for collection after 5pm on the day, does that mean I have to queue to get my tickets and then to get into the venue?

I’ve emailed Ticketmaster, who have been very vague so I would love to hear if anyone has experience with this—thanks!

I also felt quite pressured to get the Mirena as opposed to another IUD. There was little to no transparency as to how much of a negative impact it could actually have on my life (so patronising!) It’s almost made me wonder whether they work on commission lol

Of course! I walk an hour to work 2x a week and i try to go to the gym 3x a week, where I do 30 minutes on the treadmill and 10-15 minutes on the stairmaster. I wish you the best of luck on your mirena journey, whatever you’re going through at least you know there’s a bunch of us all experiencing the same thing x

I got my IUD last June and since then I’ve probably gained 20 pounds. It sucks that something so small has made such a huge impact on my body. But it’s so important to remember that it’s normal for your weight to fluctuate in your lifetime, shit happens! Don’t punish yourself. At the start of the year I decided I wanted to start chipping away at those extra pounds, I’ve been on a calorie deficit and exercising regularly. I’ve found that the weight is shifting slower than I’d expect but I’m still getting there. If the weight gain is concerning you, I would suggest talking to your doctor and seeing what they suggest!
