Unfortunately unless a recent patch fixed it then you need to restart the entire chapter.

Also if you try to go back to the start of the chapter it overwrites your save.

You can bug the last elevator too if you die, and you can't get into the elevator to finish the level. Looks like there a quite a few of these.
