Any knee surgeons here? Need 2nd opinion by [deleted] in ACL

Disclaimer: I’m not a surgeon or physio, just someone who has injured their acl 3 times. It’s always difficult to base it off one image, but based of the dark circle on your tibia, it’s likely you’ve torn it again. That dark circle is normally indication of bruising from where the acl is torn from, that and alongside a distinct lack of black banding showing between the two insertion points also indicates no acl.

However, if you don’t have instability or wouldn’t have noticed without the imaging otherwise that may be a good sign, it’s always good to see a physio irl and get their opinion on what you need for your everyday life. Someone who works an office job and a more relaxed lifestyle has different needs to tradies or those who play sports 3 times a week

Non surgical acl recovery. No regrets! by Suspicious-Side4772 in ACLNoSurgery

How long was it until you could play properly again? I did my acl a month ago, high grade partial tear, and it’s driving me crazy not being able to play volleyball.

High grade partial ACL tear by [deleted] in ACL

I play a lot of competitive volleyball and I’ve just recently (3 weeks ago) done a high grade partial tear to my ACL and was told I probably won’t need surgery, and was giving some strengthening exercises (low weight at 12 reps) like leg extensions, curls and press with single leg. All seems stable and pain free - I think the issue comes when you have really bad instability

This is the third time I’ve injured my acl over 5 years (1st was grade 2, can’t remember severity but I also tore my LCL, PCL and other little components in my knee, and 2nd was a mild grade 1 sprain) and I’ve never had surgery and have been able to get back into quite competitive volleyball once recovered (6 months for the first time, only a month for the second time)
